Well the thing about Vegapunk is he have multiple privileges

-Naturally born Genius +1
-Devil fruit to store unlimited information +1
-Acces to O'Hara +1 ( you might say he did that due to his own skills but that still give him the big edge for others)
-Big funds and resources from WG for his research +1

So I understand the frustration of some people here, especially to those who don't have those privileges and still work hard to make themselves decent scientist.
