I don’t think Garp is dead, but I do like how he was laughing in the face of death. I am not a doctor, but I think Kuzan’s ice is preventing him from bleeding out. Garp is definitely captured.
I am glad Oda gave Koby a flashback depicting his training and mental strength. I wish it was more dispersed throughout the manga, but it was always obvious that Koby would grow stronger.
We are definitely returning to Egghead next chapter and I can’t wait!
I forgot to add that Oda is setting up a fight between Koby and Kuzan. Narratively it makes sense because it’s Garp’s current protégé vs his former protégé. Koby is clearly growing stronger and will have more power ups. Also it’s marine vs former marine/pirate.

Luffy grew by life and death fights unlike Koby who was taught by legendary marine. Neither Dragon not Garp didnt teach anything to Luffy. The only thing D has offered throughout the story is that they have checkered fate or one who causes so much chaos. Being D doesn't grant them sharingan or rinnegan or byakugan powers. And you are saying you can be CoC user by hardworking?
