If he used CoA the thick black lightning wouldn’t be touching his foot during the kick. It would’ve surrounded the impact like it did in the katakuri panel you posted.

ACoC is not always contactless. We see luffy make contact with Kaido in their fight multiple times. Not to mention Zoro and King.
