Redon usually mentions it like with Lucci he straight up said “he goes white eyed.”

If Kizaru isn’t KO’d but Luffy is exhausted to the point he’s a sitting duck that’s a win.

Oda clearly softened up Kaidou for Luffy. Luffy will NEVER need 3 Powerups and 5 (!) Attempts to beat a Single villain again.

It was a subconscious admission that those 5 are > him, but he can’t bring himself to publicly admit to anyone that someone’s stronger than him. If even Roger was still alive, I’d bet that Kaido could still call himself the strongest to Luffy

Technically Luffy can revert back by forcing heartbeat. He did it with Kaidou even when he was in more worse situation. But knowing Oda, he might have forgotten that.

This is also what they do when they run with Kaido's statement that Haki conquers all and dont say its just villain bravado thats about to lose to awakened god nika but when he made the statement about no one alive being above him he's boasting.
