I'm sure Garling hates Shanks
That's why he taught his swordsmanship to someone more talented...I find it interesting if Mihawk first hates Shanks and then becomes friends with him
It would be interesting if Garling was WSS before Rayleigh beat him and became WSS.
Garling, the father of Shanks, taught Mihawk.
Rayleigh, the father of Mihawk, taught Shanks.
And then of course you have Zoro, taught by Mihawk. Shame he hasn't been taught by Rayleigh or Shanks too, then he would in theory have the two styles and thus approaching Ryuma level. Could (won't) still happen though.
Shanks will be a villain because he wants to use Luffy to accomplish his goals
Shanks won't die until after him and Luffy fight. Maybe Blackbeard comes in to clean up afterwards if you really need that scene, but only fools think Blackbeard is killing Shanks before him and Luffy meet.
Yeah no way in HELL Oda is such a bad writer that he would kill off Shanks before him and Luffy would reunite! Thus ruining Usopp and Yasopps reunion too! The fanbase would DRAG Oda for tarnishing one of the MOST important parts of One Piece by far if he did that ofc!
I absolutely RESENT the idea of Blackbeard killing Shanks before him and Luffy can reunite or Shanks dying in any way before him and Luffy reunite, absolutely bottom of the barrel, garbage writing.
It doesnt help Blackbeard with his offscreen haki is too OP BUT Law evidently survived it, along with Boa too, so Shanks should be safe if him and BB come to blows before Luffy and Shanks reunite, even though as you said, Shanks should never face BB Until after he and Luffy reunite!

To me it was always clear Shanks was bluffing when he challenged the marines at the end of war.
Just look at what sengoku said it should have been clear to everyone but I guess agendas are more important

Honestly Id love that too, Ive always imagine Mihawk hating Shanks at first and warming up to him over time, being won over by Shanks good nature and charisma. Mihawk has MASSIVE trust issues as I've always suspected and Oda has hinted at but confirmed recently with Crocodile talking to him about it directly too.
That scene of Shanks and Mihawk when Mihawk comes to talk to Shanks about Luffy is one of my favourite scenes in the series and the live action made it even better! I love the chemistry between these two!
Reminds me of my two goats from the Road to El Dorado too!:
It’s possible that the island just no longer has a way for a log to lock into it somehow which since you can’t do Norns navigation in the grand line would practically make the island disappear.
