He made a promise to his dead best friend, a promise to his current best friend/captain, and a promise to himself and Mihawk.
This is something he's spent over half his life working for, he's been lifting boulders since he was like 8, if he can't become the WSS then he's quite literally nothing.

I definitely agree on the Mihawk part but his losses against Enel and Kaido had zero impact, simple as that.

I definitely agree on the Mihawk part but his losses against Enel and Kaido had zero impact, simple as that.

None of his losses are very legit, it's often him going up against an overwhelming force that he's purposefully facing to save others, which I don't really think is as big a loss as fighting someone solo and losing without them using any unfair tricks.
And that's why I never care about him losing to Enel or Arlong, because they relied on him being severely weakened or not having a proper counter to their abilities to win, and that's basically cheating/bullying.

I disagree. Dragon Akainu and Mihawk stocks going up closer to the end of the manga we get. Youre looking for a new fav character during final saga you cant go wrong them
