I understand that, It was just odd to me because there wasn't even really anything up on the bridge that could have stopped them from freeing the slaves. Even kid shanks and buggy could have done it solely. But, yes ! Luffy also said he doesn't want to be a hero, can't save everyone.

Like you can apply that where ever roger go he could have free or help people if they needed like luffy but that don't seem to be the case.
Lets be honest Oden travel with them for years and also WB and when you hear his country was getting rule by kaido they did nothing .
None of the other members of the roger pirates did anything but at least they break up and roger was dead that a excuse .
WB did not go cause he was worry about people getting hurt , Shanks become yonko and did not do shit either .
