cause teach is still strong. also, i wouldn't take oda's words literally. already at sabaody, he told us roger and crew discovered the hidden history at laugh tale. maybe we don't get to see the one piece, but they need to reach laugh tale to understand what happened to joyboy. and then draw their conclusions, like rayleigh said (which i imagine means, they chose to wait for someone else, luffy will choose to fight).
he could do another roger's flashback and skip the reaction to the one piece, and show what it was in the last page.
There are many ways to hype Teach without using them, using Imu and Saturn to do that, who didn't hype other Pirates (except Luffy) makes no sense.

Oda's style is different. He likes to tell the old stories during the battles. So he will most likely reveal the history vs Imu and 5 Planets to increase the drama while they will try to sink the world.

Just like with Nico Robin's Ohara history was revealed during the Enies Lobby battle not before they went to Enies Lobby.

Or Oden's story wasn't revealed before going to Wano, its revealed during the Wano battles.

If he reveals it before that it would be boring story, Oda knows how to do hype his story better. If he decides OP ends with finding it, then already thought how Imu can fall before finding it as well.

He was about to sweep them at Marineford before Shanks showed up, but that's because he had the perfect opportunity. And all I'm saying is it looks like Oda is setting up an even bigger one for him this time between Caribou's knowledge and Devon getting Saturn's appearance.
He most certainly was not going to sweep them. Blackbeard and his crew wasn’t even getting past Sengoku. This was while Sakazuki and Kizaru were pre occupied with Luffy.

That's just one of all weird nature in Grandline, there's no way an Uranus isn't being hide meanwhile people in Wano burried it down below their country.
In-universe time this was only like 2 months ago. This was them starting to make it operational again with the Mother Flame. The only place they can really hide it is above the clouds, and if it isn't a cloudy day, they're kind of boned. That's why they would've tractor beamed Capone.

Oda was talking about how to satisfy his fans on if he draws a punch to beat Kaido or not draw a punch. Thats a stylistic detail. Kaido was going to fall either way.

He isn't going to change the story, he might change the details. Thats an entirely different thing to choosing a punch or kick to defeat Kaido to changing the ending of OP lmao.
This is the most common translation I can find for the quote from an interview he did:
"When Kaidou appeared for the first time, I said that Luffy can't defeat such a strong character yet. And I'm yet to know how Luffy would defeat Kaidou. Probably my audience will not be satisfied if the reason for defeating Kaidou is just because Luffy's punch is so strong. Luffy and I have to find a solution somehow."
Reducing that to a decision of "punch or kick" is just silly, and that is still not a stylistic detail lol - that's still a writing decision even if basic. Besides, he's clearly implying a solution that's not just beating Kaidou with a physical attack, it would mean something that's actually somewhat creative rather than just redoing the same ending as always.

Anyway, the point was that Oda's answers in interviews and such can't be trusted.

I want both Akainu and Ryokugyu to rebel. I want all Admirals to rebel.

Ju Peter should be Aramaki’s EOS opponent.

God of Agriculture Vs Plant Man.

Eating Gorosei Vs Fasting Man.

Eating Gorosei Vs “eating” Admiral (nutrient sucking).

And Aramaki should be shitfaced drunk during fight just like Aramaki was shitfaced drunk at the end of Ronin Gai.

Also, the Celestial Dragon chick Aramaki was fucking should be a member of the Shephard family. Just to make the fight that much more personal.

I have no shortage of Admiral related headcanon.
Your headcanon Aramaki is almost as unique as worstgen's headcanon Carrot

Jeez. Chapter of 13 pages AND a break. The amount of breaks we have gotten throughout Egghead really dampened the weekly experience for me. I just hope Oda is doing well. Thankfully the last couple of volumes contained more than the usual ten chapters (around 11-12), meaning new readers will hardly notice it.

Pre-occupied with pre-timeskip Luffy and Jinbei. Kizaru was the only fresh one because he didn't really scrap at Marineford. Akainu was still recovering from Whitebeard.

Sweep maybe isn't the right, but he at least thought he could take out some top-level Marines like Sengoku before he left.

It's a shame because outside of the breaks, it's been the best weekly experience in a long time.

Nah, Minato and Roger are both set up as the MC's goals. They fulfill the same function of inspiring the MC and dying in the intro and are built up as legends.

Tbh Hashirama didn't get much hype or attention until the story shifted from Akatsuki-centric to Uchiha-centric after Itachi died.
  1. Luffy Naruto
  2. Shanks minato
  3. Roger Jiraiya
  4. Joyboy Hashirama
  5. Nika ashura

Lmao what? He is literally talking about ''how'' to beat Kaido, not if Kaido should fall or not.

He already decided Kaido was going to fall, but can make up some more shits while doing that, he didn't decide what should he do extra, Luffy's several power ups were for that or Kaido fighting many people so he would be tired.

He can change ''how'' Luffy will find OP, but he isn't going to change OP will end with finding, changing that is changing the entire story.

If you bring up a quote saying Oda didn't decide should Kaido fall on Wano arc or not then would comparable. Because that would be a huge decision as well. Kaido was going to fall either way on Wano that was certain, and OP will end after finding it.
