Roger kicks off the series with his death, literally the same role as Minato. Luffy wants to be Roger, the Pirate King. Naruto idolized the 4th all his life.
Hashirama was barely relevant for half the series, later became relevant because of the antagonist. Nobody but Madara gasses Hashirama in the series.
Roger and Minato fulfill the same role.

If Roger did that, what would it accomplish? Poseidon wasn’t born yet; and if Pluton takes a power source like the mother flame too that power source wasn’t created yet either.
By revealing his knowledge to the World, all it would do is make his crews life more difficult. At least by just sacrificing himself the crew will dissipate and they’d be a lower priority to execute. But if the WG knew that without a doubt the Roger pirates knew the ancient history, there’s nothing that would stop the WG from targeting them. Including the kids who don’t even know anything.

The imagination explanation really is a dumb cop out. Like if wishing and imagination determines why these powers exist, why do they only manifest as fruits? Wouldn't everyone who really wanted something get exactly what they wanted with no fruits? A ton of people in Water 7 wish their island wasn't sinking at a faster rate than the rest of the world but that hasn't helped them from losing more than half of it the past decades. And shouldn't there be multiple copies of certain devil fruits? Surely there must be lots of dumbass furries who wanted to be the same kind of animal and perverts who wanted to be invisible. How is one wish chosen over another? Is there a divine system involved to decide which wish gets to be a fruit?
Vegapunk's answer was such a non-answer that it would've been better to just have him say he had no idea what devil fruits are and leave it at that wihout the 15 years of Oda shilling that he'd answer the big questions in SBS and databooks.
