I think it's only possible to seal with the ancient science. Since it's specifically shown to be a sealing mechanism even when Nami was shown the technique in weatheria.

Ie, something like weapons, household objects and etc won't be able to seal the haki itself, even if Joyboy puts his all into it.. it'd just release the Haki.

Nah it's much simpler than that. Weapons/bullets/arrows can be imbued similarly. Similar principle except done by one of the strongest haki users who is more skilled as in this case.
