Ngl, Obito being above Pain doesnt really sit right with me, unless we´re counting him having the ten tails and stuff. But at the time of the tailed beast collection, Obito sends Nagato to do what he failed to achive(capturing the nine tails). Obito doesnt even really view himself above Itachi

I'm apart of the Deidara >= Sasori camp as well. I think the Sasori > Deidara PoV is very unfounded, without looking into the context of why Deidara said what he said.

My list looks more like;

  3. Pein / Itachi
  4. Orochimaru
  5. Hoshigaki Kisame, Sultan of Suiton, Monster of the Hidden Mist

Black Zetsu alone was fighting evenly with Mei + Chojuro + several other Jonin. Adding in White Zetsu Prime should make him even stronger

While these are true, none of these apply to Kisame or Asuma. Asuma is supposed to be elite in CQC, it's all he really has. Getting a cut on Kisame is not supposed to be an outlier for him. Just nicking your opponent isn't supposed to kill them in most scenarios anyway.

Kisame’s 30% clone just straight up created a lake and could also instantly neg Team Guy (minor Guy himself, and keep in mind Neji was a Jonin). Either Kisame wasn’t trying in Part 1, or Kishi retconned him to be much stronger. That’s all there is to it really

That has nothing to do with Asuma's CQC skills. Kisame wanted to have a go at Asuma in close quarters. No one resorts to just creating a lake off the bat, Kisame has shown he likes to engage in CQC often, unfortunately that's why not having intel on Hidan is such an issue, you think the fight is just getting started but that's all he needs. With full intel obviously Kisame is destroying Hidan.
