Tbh I hope rocks doesn’t have a fruit but he probably has the Yami and that’s why Blackbeard wanted.

Personally, I hope the Yami Yami was exactly what Xebec lacked to achieve his goals. Teach’s current confidence would make perfect sense if he knows he possesses the one thing his father didn’t. It would also make it way more meaningful that he spent decades on Whitebeard’s ship just to get that fruit. Not to blindly imitate his father, but to surpass him where he failed.

That’s true the problem is fruit powers are linked to the soul of the user and not the body (Brook is evidence of this)

Just like Roger didn’t have the Nika DF, which he would’ve needed to achieve his dream at the right time, Xebec lacked the Yami Yami, the power that could’ve allowed him to absorb Imu and take the world.
Both of them got close to their goals, but they weren’t ready, and it wasn’t the right time.
