This wasn't ever my point though. I never said Blackbeard cant beat Shanks. Ive always pitched that Luffy could fight Shanks first, given things that were happening with the character and possible contradictions weve seen. Now we know that those things were Shamrock, so yeah I dont care that it happens now. Granted it still needs to happen in front of Luffy if it does, thats all i have to say about that. Its not an event he cant directly exerience, both characters are too important

Frankly now all im hoping for is Elbaf fully tackles Shamrock and the God Knights, even if that seems partially unlikely given Imu's posession of Gunko, but we dont know where that is leading or how long that'll actually last.

This feels like oda setting up shanks vs Blackbeard to occur during this arc like Ace vs Blackbeard earlier.

Personally I dont see it happening at all like Ace lol, very different characters and situations. They are fundamentally tied together of course, but I see them appearing at the same time around Luffy, even if Luffy doesn't directly fight Blackbeard yet (imo that'll be Akainu)

Blackbeard is narrative foil to Luffy - his antithesis ....his greatest foe as Xebec was Roger's greatest foe.


And, with Xebec being his father, I would say this is massive upscale of Teach... odds of Teach being Final villain in pirate manga series is around 80 - 90% for me.

What even happened to the 2 other Admirals during Roger’s era, back when Sengoku was just Admiral and Kong was Fleet Admiral? Even if they retired, why do we never see them hanging around like Garp, Sengoku, and even Tsuru still do? Were they killed in action?

Shanks vs BB won't happen in front of Luffy.

All I see is Luffy uniting with Shanks after the defeat - perhaps when he's near his end.


BB was responsible for Ace being sentenced....Shanks death will spiral Luffy's real anger against Blackbeard as if there is any character Luffy cares about the most then it's Shanks.....
