Mihawk is a shit character and far inferior to any other top tier in terms of character no one cares about that

Pushing our guy above the main agenda rival isn’t being scared. It’s the Mihawk fans insecure about Shanks anytime he gets hyped cause the plot device is shit and has nothing to make his starved fans happy
But, but.. Strongest Swordsman is above '' all '' Swordsmen is my only argument..

Shit argument got debunked when it was confirmed that the title only pertained to the strength accumulated by sword skills

Mihawk is trash if he was actually superior Oda would have respected him or just hidden him instead of embarrassing him and stripping his fans of dignity every time he appeared on panel

I don't see why they'd be insecure if Oda confirmed he's above Shanks the moment he introduced him
Mihawk fans don't really need to fear Shanks tbh
Meanwhile Shanks fans always try to make ways for Shanks to be above Mihawk even though we know that he only ever fights with a sword and specifically had sword duels with Mihawk which even Whitebeard heard of
Even if he has a fruit in his sword that's not enough since Issho and Law have fruits and yet they're still swordsmen
Same for Kaku and Nusjuro
If he drops the sword completely in the future and has another fighting style on top of that then yeah he might not be a pure swordsman but so far we can't just assume he's not a swordsman right now

But again this is fine since Shanks' character doesn't revolve around his raw strength, he's not that type of guy at all. If it were someone like Kaido, Whitebeard or Mihawk and they were confirmed to be below certain people then that'd be horrible for them since a lot of their hype builds off being the strongest and what not

SBS 38

ODA: There are several different accounts, but in general there was a lying, no-good pirate named Davy Jones, a greedy deck chief who was famous for putting all the crew's valuables in his own locker. He was so wicked, even for a pirate, that one day the Devil himself cursed Davy to live at the bottom of the sea forever, swabbing the deck of a sunken ship and placing all the sunken treasure into his locker, where it would never be seen again. So when pirates say "Put 'im in Davy Jones' locker!!" it means "sink 'im to the bottom o' the sea!!"

Actually, we don’t know which era Ryuma belonged to.
I think the most likely scenario is that he lived during the Void Century, since it’s said that Wano was known as the “Country of Gold” in his time, and during Vegapunk’s speech there’s this line from a random pirate:

Could that be subtle foreshadowing?
Ryuma was said to have defended Wano from World Nobles, which only existed after Joyboy/the Ancient Kingdom were defeated and the World Government was established.

Also, Ryuma's grave is in new Wano, not old Wano before the walls around Wano were made, and one of the One Piece magazines explicitly says that Ryuma died four hundred years ago.

All evidence points to Ryuma being around after the void century.
