Oda out here, letting people know that all those big shots are not in the ballpark of Zoro, Mihawk and Ryuma for 26 years and they are still not grasping what he is telling them. The gift that keeps on giving. Self-sabotagebros are something else.

Oda gives every motherfucker under the sun who is vaguely considered one of the all time greats a sword. Roger, Shanks, Xebec, none of them guys turned their blade black.
Xebec is EXPLICITLY a confirmed swordsman this chapter so it by the way don't matter if people wanna be delusional and claim it is STILL up in the air if Shanks and Roger are. Xebec, much like Oden, is 1000% a swordsman and FAILED to get their sword to black blade status.
Even if some wanna resort to cope about "well, we don't KNOW if Mihawk made Yoru black" why does it matter? Unless people wanna be delusional and deny the biggest Chekhov's gun setup ever, Zoro IS gonna blacken his blade, so he by default is gonna surpass Xebec.

No it won’t be a power up for Zoro. It just means Zoro has reached the absolute peak of something and has gotten stronger. The “power up” will be from Zoro himself getting stronger and achieving peak swordsmanship or whatever. The black blade itself won’t make him stronger like FS, Acoc, Acoa.
In simpler terms: Black blade is a gold medal. It’s given to the winners of a race. THE MEDAL ITSELF doesn’t make the runner faster. But it’s a symbol to show he’s reached the peak of something. Meanwhile ACoC is a steroid that makes the runner run faster

This chapter literally spells it out of you that clowns like you were coping. Xebec using the "sacred art of shock waves" like Shanks and Roger? Is identified under the swordsmanship umbrella. Thus, the STRONGEST SWORDSMAN is above the shock wave swordsman Shanks.
Not that this EVER should have been needed mind you since PRE-SKIP Zoro and Ryuma among others already use shock wave attacks with their sword style. Just because Xebec does it at a larger scale and instead of cutting a wall with his wave attack rather than a mountain it doesn't suddenly mean one is a swordsman while the other isn't.
