Frankly speaking, I really don't understand some of the wanks we see .

In every manga, everything revolves around a central narrative lore. Characters who are tied with this lore ends up playing the most meaningful role


Oda has been very clear with whom he thinks matters the most when it comes to narrative lore - Shs / WGs and marines/ Revolutionary army / Among yonkous - Shanks and Teach.


Among other worstgen - Law and Kidd

Among races, Giants and Fishmen are most important races to the narrative lore.... perhaps even minks.

It doesn't mean others don't hold importance - they do but when it comes to the central narrative kore, they exist to fill the spaces.

Well, Lee knows Oda would use ass pull no mi to make Coby achieve his dream of being an admiral.

And, knowing how many parallels he has drawn with old gen (Garp vs Roger in this chapter itself), Coby by virtue of that parallel can then be wanked to clash with Future Luffy.


Lee is visionary - he's placing bet on Coby because that's where the future of his agenda of admirals will bloom the most.

He was a terminally dependent DF user like everyone was at the time. According to Teach, Ace as a pretty major pirate in the NW wasn´t ¨used to gettting hit¨ because Oda didn´t really have the idea that armament haki would be a super common thing.

According to Pekoms, over confident Logias get crushed in the NW, and yet Crocodile was basically by himself(and with Mr 1, but that might as well not matter) for 2 years in the NW, never even ended up working for a Yonko. And he worked his way up to earning 2 billion as a bounty, and yeah, bounty scaling isn´t everything, but we know the YC´s are getting boosted from their captains, and for wiping out towns that don´t pay taxes to their captains, I think it´s certainly relevant that Oda had Crocodile near 2 billion, which is above any YC1´s we know for now(Shiryu and Beckman could be above him). Plus, unlike other Yonkos, Buggy is boosted by his subordinates. According to Law, if Buggy can command Croco and Hawkeye, he could be a yonko, he isn´t even singling out Mihawk, it´s both of them

I have seen Admiral fans claim that Koby would disgrace the rank by making it to Admiral but like, all Admirals were just born as normal humans. That’s part of what makes them goated, they are just normal humans who reached the absolute pinnacle through hard work and training, not born gorillas like Kaido or Big Mom or born Celestial Dragon seed like Saint Shanks and Mihawk, they are just normal dudes who went from 0-100 and still wound up stronger than your favorites.

Koby is an absolute W for the Admiral agenda, dude is 12 years old and already outputting more raw power than Hakai.

This was his level and even on MF when his strength was quote and quote "retconned" his weakness were pretty glaring. It's not hard to look menacing with a powerful Logia like his. Hell even Smoker who has a weaker DF was flexing on MF.
I'm not saying Croc is not going to be upscaled in some way. It is feasible but y'all have to come with much better arguments than "he's a shichibukai" or "he blocked mihawk". Fcking Vista was able to fight Mihawk to a bloody draw on MF and the man is fodder to top tiers.

Also I'm not the biggest Lucci fan but calling Lucci a random Cp9 agent is very disingenuous and even the whole warlord argument you're using goes to shit simply by looking at the SHs PL rankings.

The reality is that I could make a very strong argument for Jinbe beating Croc but that very same Jinbe would get washed by any peak high tier.
Croc has a powerful Devil Fruit but that is it but at the top level when put against powerful haki users, he's incredibly limited.

The Gorosei themselves since Alabasta said Crocodile was a huge miss, and they had to fill that spot to keep the balance of power. Crocodile has always been a huge player.

Lucci was strong for a Paradise level villain, but Croc was a global power.
