I’m really curious now about why Rayleigh is so insanely injured. I mean, there are no signs that the Rocks Pirates fought him, the Holy Knights, as we’ve seen, are complete trash—only Garling is worth anything, and even the assumption that it was him is a very slim chance. So who was it that left prime Rayleigh so bloodied? I mean, prime Kizaru couldn’t even put a scratch on the old version of this man, yet his prime version is here all messed up.

So he shouldn't have gotten stronger at this age, and anyone who can defeat Aokiji shouldn't have a problem defeating Fleet Akainu
