So I read something interesting on NF that I glossed over, Ive been positing that Imu still holds hope to recruit Loki to his side given that the chapter prior to this one he tried to form a pact with him, then again with Gunkimu he tried to get him to flip and again prior to that with the Gods Knights trying to recruit Loki.

What if the strength we need refers to Loki and the giants here?

And the strength we ought to destroy would be Luffy/Nika?

Does it make sense?

Maybe its a language barrier issue, but it sounds to me like they're talking about themselves right? Given they talking about the exception on THEM

Like we clearly know thats not the case with Loki given imu is handling him, and there is no shot Imu let those 2 goobers handle Nika after the Gorosei already failed. So whats are they referencing here? Something we dont know? Or am i just having a misunderstanding

“The strength we need” is the Giant army led by Loki and that’s why Imu came in person and is fighting as he is. He’s trying to make Loki envy his strength as that envy is the first step to “domination”

“The strength we out to destroy” is Nika/Luffy. Nika is one of the greatest threats to them and their plans as such they’re in a great opportunity here in Elbaf.

Reading it like that i would not count Loki tho as part of the one that must be destroyed necessarily:

We know for confirmed, given the traitor line, Imu has no hate boner against Nidhog fruit like against Nika.

The WG goal might then could be to kill Luffy, lock away the Nika fruit, kill Loki and feed his DF to one of the gorosei/Hk, "acquiring the power" no?

Since Imu has no real hate towards Loki and been trying to recruit him the entire arc, I assume hes still hoping to but might change his mind soon and decide killing Loki is an easier way to get the fruit.

You need to have a regular fruit with you next to the person that dies.

There are enough around we saw them during the feast, Super Sommers or someone to grab one and give to imu if needed, i dont think that would be an issue

Nah because Loki does two huge things:
1. Gives them control of Elbafs army
2. Gives them control of Nidhoggr at full strength

Killing Loki and just giving his fruit to someone accomplishes nothing
