this next flashback is going to be like 10 chapters long
we are going back 39 years ago. God Valley happened 38 years ago. It seems like Rocks and Oden were somehow tied. Perhaps Oden was a member of Rocks via him being on whitebeard's crew. Regardlesss it seems like Oda is going to combine the rocks flashback with the Oden flashback.
so I assume this will take a long time. Plus we have like 3 major parts of Oden's life we need to address
- him meeting and gathering the scabbards
-his career as a pirate
-the invasion of wano by kaido

its not really anything to argue about. if zoro is using his powerup casually then it means enma draining haki isnt really going to be much of a thing anymore aka he has tamed it . both sides win. I did love the banter tho. The crew have not been together in a while. I suppose the even bigger boost will come using ashura with it multiplying the power of his slashes with enma by three at the very least .

I really appreciated the end of the chapter. The scabbards were ready to continue fighting even when the odds looked stacked against them. Very clever of Oda to start the flashback just after that. The only way these pack of misfits would go so far in honor of someone is if that person was worth all the trouble. It's only right we personally know the man that has enraptured them.

Remember when Slownoa Zolo fans were pushing the narrative that Zoro will challenge Sanji to a fight or scold him because of all the Big mom mess

1. Why would Nami or Luffy even mention it? Only way is if Zoro ask them about it, but he's not a prude.
2. Even if he did, there are frankly much more important things happening. It's not the time to have in crew fighting. And I imagine things will only escalate after Wano, so less reason for pointless drama.
Fighting off Daifuku twice in same arc especially fighting him off in protecting the ship. He didn't ha bad fights against him. Plus he still causes chaos as much as Luffy was as newspaper enlist him among the masterminds in it. Stussy and Morgan saw him as threat like Luffy was doing.
Again let's see in a fight as doesn't mean anything by cutting something immobile compare to opponent who can dodge and tank on his end.

I'm really not an expert or anything, but I think Oden's design is based on a kabuki version of Goemon, who was also boiled to death. It looks very similar to the Persona 5 version anyway, and I'm assuming that was taken from a broader Japanese design fin the character that Oda has also tapped into
