Its the fact that he hit Ulti and knocked her down, then grabbed Luffy and escaped. Clearly we don't know HOW strong he is, but he seems capable/fast enough to be able to do these 3 things.

Had this theory a while back, Big Mom has pudding who has an ability that'd be able to decipher her Road Poneglyph. I suspect Yamato is very smart & like Robin taught himself how to read the poneglyphs also write them. Kaido has weapons factories and no one in his crew looks like the genius weapons designer type... In learning the poneglyphs in Wano he learnt about the importance of the Kozuki Clan & has been waiting this long for the man Oden was waiting for, he deduced this person must be strawhat Luffy
