Right after this....Shanks goes and talks to the Gorosei.

This is true with the latest news of editor getting fired. Story track does seem to have different direction.

The story right now present luffy needing more allies you can see big mom and kaido are clearly outweighing the allies.

Yamato facing big mom could be possible choice seeing luffy need to fight kaido one on one.
