IDK how all this flashy bullshit, and weird wiggly animation that looks like art splashed all over the place, is making OP viewers go "peak animation!"
I miss the pre Wano animation. Had clean art, clean animation, better choreography and not too much flashiness.

I never get how dudes confuse lazy overanimation/flashiness with quality animation. Is it ADHD?
This animation>>> anything in DBS:
DBS was trash tier in all ways possible - characters, plot and animation. Everything sucked. I only enjoyed some moments of Hit and intro Goku black.

I was never a fan of the one piece anime (like most toei adaptions) to begin with cause of how they butchered the intended of many scenes. A recent one was the episode where Shanks one shot Kidd. The orginal intention of Shanks going serious in blink a second and finishing the fight quickly was totally destroyed by making it some over indigulged long wank fest attack where it becomes even more dumb because they included a 20 seconds scene or so where Shanks sprints instead telling his fucking sniper next to him to shoot at kid or something. and i called the episode garbage prompting some of the people call me here retard
We also almost never get clean CQC like the DBZ clip, i think the last time was some scenes in wano , someone showed me some recents clips of egghead and chracters twirl or spin when they jump at each other and people her going "peak"

Bro, the One Piece anime was laughed at for being shit before Wano.
Its only in Wano that the anime began to have any sort of credibility animation wise.
Oh yeah, for power scaling nuts out there, the animator broke down how he imagined the characters fighting and the fighting styles they used during the fight.
I know that most of the people here are anti-learning, but its an interesting read. If you want to power scale with it, go ahead.

I think the running joke about the One Piece anime production right now is that half the entire anime industry has now worked on the show at some point.
...What you described is literally not "butchering the intention of the scene". The scene is still Shanks instantly wiping out Kidd. The drawing it out is for the sake of adaptation. Which is fine, and the scene is effective because they give it space to breathe. Thats not "butchering the scene" thats translation. Showing Shanks sprinting across the ships as he makes his way towards Kid is a great way of showing Shank's urgency to act in that scene over the characters conveniently teleporting places inbetween panels. That wouldn't have worked in an anime format. If you do that sort of thing, you end up with the FMI remaster.
Also, One Piece has never had good choreography in the manga, so the anime staff are really just pulling whatever the hell they can to make the fights somewhat interesting.
Like, for Zoro vs Lucci, they are literally working with essentially nothing.
