It was certainly a different style. I'm not sure if I particularly liked Takashi Kojima's art in this scene, but it wasn't bad by any means.

Power scaling aside, it's good that the anime is actually finishing scenes rather than just dropping them or having characters teleport all over the place.

Yup. And let's remember that Oda told Toei that they will take care of what Oda couldn't include in the manga because he's rushed some of the stuff in the manga and now Toei add more fillers so that the anime wouldn't feel left out.
