it's so obvious how insecure oda is about one piece lacking in global popularity compared to naruto and dragon ball. He's desperately resorted to trying to raise popularity with shitty fanservice movies like film red, and now with this dumb live action series. It's not going to work, in fact it will probably deter people from one piece even more.
So film red was a fanservice film that was to bring in non-fans I don't see the logic, wow you really are just a narutotard just hates one piece being as popular as it is.
No. The core of One Piece is the exageration:
- In the worldbuilding
- In the characterizations
- In the situations
- In the thematics
All we need is not the opposite of realism, its coherence with exageration.
Right now, the serie's teaser points toward a good balance between exageration and real life worldbuilding. In fact, in many case here, the worldbuilding is improved. Notably because of the work of good concept artists and a nice direction.
So no, there is no reason to think that this serie will fail. In fact the more I look at that teaser, the more I get excited, its like reading One Piece for the first time again.

Yes film red was obviously nothing like normal one piece. Oda tried to make it like a disney movie to try appeal to westerners, and was hoping that uta fanservice would bring in non-fans. And guess what, he failed.

tbh,
Nami looks Very Good
Ussop Surprisingly Better than i expected
Zoro Looks Amazing
Luffy is good but still kinda look goofy ( which i like it since luffy is like that lol )
Sanji looks a bit weird when his hair is down, but he really looks so cool when saving luffy.

No Its not trying to be like Disney Movie. in Japan, 2021-2022 is the rise of Vtuber, the popular Vtuber one were an Idol. UTA was an Idol. Her Diary on Youtube is also 3d model Vtuber kinda like. Her Live singing performance also similar to Vtuber idol when they held an event. So thats not like a Disney movie.
Film Red is also bringing Non One piece fan. if u didn't knew the singer on this one is popular singer from japan named Ado. even at one of UTA song on Ado's youtube channel, sum people is suddenly a fan of One piece when she singing it, so you were wrong. Oda didn't try to appeal westerners, he tried to seek another fans in idol community. Hence why Uta was so Popular in Japan. i don't see how they and Oda failed.

Keep lying to yourself. Naruto and sasuke vs momoshiki has 63 million views on crunchyrolls youtube, whereas one piece most popular clip of luffy knocking down kaido from chapter 1000 has only 5.2 million, literally more than 10x less popular. And this is Boruto which is no where near as loved as naruto. A single boruto fight 10 times more popular than the highest climax of one piece up to that point. It's not even close.
Luffy isnt look as natural and as experessive as he is in the manga.
His action kinda feels like it was forced to be 'Luffy'.
Also, this trailer give the vibe that Zoro and Nami could somehow overshadow Luffy.
Yes, in the manga, Zoro and Nami is pretty dominant, but Luffy is just chilling around and doesn't give a f-ck. That way, he isn't being overshadowed by Nami and Zoro.
He just being different and natural.
I hope Zoro's and Nami's acting won't overshadow Luffy in this live action.
Dunno, I will still give this trailer the benefit of doubt.
Actually I wonder how Sanji manages not to destroy his taste buds with smoking and also not get lung cancer - and then I remember he's a manga character
