ONE PIECE MAGAZINE VOL.10 (16 of September)

That magazine is wrong for the simple fact that Katakuri was neither stronger nor faster when Luffy went into Gear 4. Luffy himself stated that Katakuri stands no chance against Gear 4 if it wasn't for Future Sight.

I thought this was going to be some detailed batle analysis. All it is is a bad recap of what happened. Vivre Cards 2.0.
Luffy was getting owned by Kata the second he got his composure back, lmao.

He could punch him like a step child when he started using Power Mochi
Yeah, he punched Luffy in the stomach with no Haki. Luffy blocked Power Mochi with a basic Gear 3 attack. Boundman was way stronger than Katakuri.

Oda didn't even bother with King Kong Gun, because Katakuri would stand 0 chance in a physical clash. Katakuri physically speaking was at best Snakeman level.

"stronger", "faster" refers to physical attributes, not overall power. Luffy was massively stronger than Katakuri physically in Boundman.

Katakuri was better in pretty much everything, except endurance, which is understandable because he isn't used to taking damage
Can you read?

"It's not your Mochi powers that are so great!! It's your colour of observation"

Oda made it clear, it was just his Future Sight that kept Luffy from being stronger than Katakuri.

Luffy in G4 always has his defenses up, doesn't matter where you hit him, doffy couldn't do anything to him even if he hit him straight in the stomach, while Katakuri can make his eyes go blank with one hit

Do you understand what "in the stomach with no Haki" means? And neither Katakuri or Doflamingo were physically stronger than Boundman.

welp then you're contradicting yourself, you say being stronger and faster isn't considered to be overall power, instead it's base physical attributes, and then you compare Boundman Luffy's Physical Strength which is strength only obtained through the use of Luffy's DF to Base Katakuri's Strength

It was clear as day that sanjikun won't accept that but fortunately, all of that stuff is headcanon now. Kata was stronger than Luffy the entire fight. Goodbye Kata~DR Luffy.
The article is literally just re-telling what happend, it's a a analysis based on a subjective interpretation after all and not

even written by Oda....And Sanjikun is not wrong about Boundman being superior in strength, Boundman's basic moves as Kong Gun and Rhino Schneider bypassed Katakuri's edged mochi defense and send him flying through a pillar and likely hundreds of meters, meanwhile Power Mochi hit Luffy, when he was unguarded and has not used haki on the spot Kuri aimed for. Also Katakuri never clashed with Boundman, Power Mochi only re- directed a Kong Gun which requires less strength than directly matching it head on.
From Greg in AP forum
The OP magazines are compiled by the company that handles/compiles all of OP's promotional material.‬
‪They're not written by Oda. They're written by individuals who know and love the series very well.
‪They are approved by (multiple) editors past and present with present doing the hardest checks.
‪Sometimes, the information provided -like fanbooks of yore- are written by staff who are just as curious about certain elements as you and I.‬
‪Sometimes...their writing may give the reader a glimpse into OP's greatest secrets.‬
‪And sometimes...they're just putting a fun theory out there.‬
So no, the article is not a waterproof fact about Katakuri being superior to post- Wci Luffy.

Katakuri was physically comparable to SNAKEMAN, not Boundman. Boundman is on a whole other level physically. Read the damn manga

"Even your tough Haki can't stand up to Gear 4"

"It's not your Mochi powers that are great, it's your observation Haki"

Read what Greg said about OP magazines. It's a bunch of randos putting together some basic info. No detailed analysis.

Yes lol they are bunch of kids like users here who did 'detail' analysis of something written by Oda. We are making a big deal as if Oda has written it.

Although the analysis itself is nonsense, you're making a big mistake.
Nobody denies that Bound Man has more damage output than Katakuri but that doesn't make Bound Man stronger in general. It doesn't change Katakuri's powerlevel regardless, he's still >>> DR Luffy by a large margin. And said analysis is right in one thing: Luffy couldn't defeat Katakuri with his physical attributes. He needed another ability to match him.

Even then, do you think the fight would have went differently if Katakuri never allowed Luffy to use Snake Man in the first place? Katakuri was still portrayed to have the upperhand with his awakening.
Furthermore, Snake Man just fought with base Katakuri and although I believe that Snake Man was simply too fast for Kata to use his awakening effectively, there's also a good reason to think otherwise.

What mistake? I simply pointed out that when it comes to strength, or call it striking power (whatever), Kuri was not superior, I never argued for Boundman to be superior in general.

Too much variables to think of.
Of course you can pick out single situations speaking in Luffy's or Kuri's favor.
If you want to hear my opinion, then yes I believe Oda tried make Luffy come out of the fight as the superior comabatant, that's the narrative he was pushing all along, the reason why Luffy went back into the Mirrorworld. Was the execution good though? Not really, otherwhise we wouldn't see tons of people believing Katakuri to be superior.

Since you mentioned it and it always bothered me that I've seen that being mentioned as argument to say that Kata even held back here are my two cents. As you said it was likely the best way to fight Snakeman. We've already seen that Mogura was inefficient against base Luffy and huge attacks as Power Mochi or any other similar attack are too slow, hence Luffy was able to react and match a Power Mochi with G3. Even when Kata used various awakened attacks and grilled Mochi, Luffy has been able to react to it or even slip through it.
And in the end it was not really "base Kata" he turned into a donut making him extremely fast and used his strongest technique "Buzz Cut Mochi" twice and used Edged Mochi too
