Because it's all bullshit. Perospero never said he would have lost. And Jack was noticeably damaged. All the top guys like Sicilian were in tact.

Combat capability is more than just how many Sulong Minks attacked you. Jack has better endurance/durability being a Zooan, but Perospero is much more skilled/versatility with his Devil Fruit.

I think Perospero was very clearly portrayed as inferior to Jack in this chapter.

The focus went King fighting -> Queen fighting -> Jack fighting -> Perospero fighting.

Perospero was definitely being shown like a YC4
