You are completelly right. And Oda is very contradictory to himself since he says he doesn't wants OP to last that long anymore.
First 600 chapters of OP seems to have so much more story than others 416 chapters. I have to say 600 because that was when timeskip hapenned. So post timeskip still have 184 chapters to catch up pre timeskip in story relevancy.
Oda spent so much time on useless bullshit because he wanted to save "the good stuff" for later, that the parts of the series that the fans actually wanted him to go in depth about will probably get shafted due to time constraints. One Piece will continue to drop in sales, Oda will get older, and the part of the story that kept the fans reading will probably be fumbled.

dressrosa was supposed to be a set up arc. It was supposed to be just a stepping stone to get to kaido. There is literally no reason for Oda to spend 2 years and 100 pages on it.
What it should have been:
use the colosseum to set up the other supernova, the revolutionaries, the marines, and the yonko. Have Luffy's main subplot be here

One Piece is oddly story declining yet turning more popular. I'm fairly confident that the pandemic massively knocked the bank to attain that but surely the notion the manga is drawing nearer to its end helps its popularity as well.
lmfao "move the fuck on" should be the new title for One Piece. 1000+ chapters and 25 years later and we know as much about the void century and the One Piece as we did since chapter 1. We had way more revelation during the single Sabody arc then we did the entire post time skip plot.
Sales are declining because piracy is getting easier and easier. No one on this website including myself pays for any of this shit. They can easily do the same thing in Japan. The only people buying these mangas are people who either want to collect them or want something tangible.
My point is that Oda should have used the supernova he built up in sabaody to be rivals of Luffy instead of introducing a whole new host of unimportant side characters. Luffy literally doesn't need the grand fleet.
Roger didn't have a fleet, shanks doesn't seem to have a fleet, why does Luffy need one? He didn't even bother to call those guys when he went up against kaido or big mom.
I think, given how important Oda hyped Kid up to be, we should have seen Kid(and his alliance) in the colosseum. We could have seen him have a brief clash with Luffy before leaving the arc. Ultimately, the mera mera no mi is one of the strongest fruits in the series and it makes literally no sense why almost all of the people fighting over it were litereal nobodies. If I were Oda, I would have included the Kid alliance, the red hair pirates, the blackbeard pirates, as well as cipher pol or Koby/Helmeppo.

Oda keeps recycling this brain dead formula of having luffy go to an island, become friends with its inhabitants, and then have this be the motivation to become that island's hero. What this amounts to is Oda needing to spend ample time every single arc building up a new batch of characters nobody gives a shit about so that Luffy can have some motivation to beat this pirate.
Dude... KnY and JJK are selling 20mi+. One Piece never sold anything close to the 80mi of KnY. One Piece for a long period were selling below 10mi. What is your excuse when we have 2 works at the same time selling 20mi+ and it seems other works will also break the 10mi barrier while OP is maintaining it's 8mi per year(at the best scenario)?
ppl really need to repeat but like no matter how much I or anyone writes
Unless someone sits down and explain it in video to explain sales and context , no one will get it
you're comparing a manga that ended and ppl buying its retail version with all the copies and it has way less volumes to a manga thats its at 100+ volume
when jjk , kny reach their 100 volume and keep up these crazy sales that op kept with then i will tip my hat off ... i dont really need to explain the diff do i like its not that hard to get ?

Agree that he should have built up the Supernova's more. Law was well developed. Bege too. Bonney has nice mysteries I think she will have a great development as well. But the rest so far(excluding Luffy and Zoro of course) were bad/none development. Even the ones at Wano like X-Drake still close to 0 development. But I don't see how Oda could have done it at Dressrosa. Not saying Dressrosa was good, but Dressrosa was made for Law and Luffy's Grand Fleet basically.
Luffy NEEDS Grand Fleet. Unlikely Roger and Shanks Luffy is the one who will set the world in the biggest battle ever happened. Remember that Luffy said they were weak guys and didn't wanted the Grand Fleet BUT said to them call him if they ever need help. So Luffy is not calling them for Wano makes sense. But probably he will change his mind at Final War or if they don't show up in Wano because of Luffy's Vivre Card they may show up at Final War because of it or just because would be a world known event.
Relationship between Supernovas is very weird. At Sabaody they almost didn't faced each other. Actually I think they didn't but almost did (Guess Apoo vs Kid started there). Oda never draw Supernovas going after each other, only know they are facing each other because Apoo and Hawkins are now part of Kaido's crew not because they really want to do. Similar thing Killer vs Zoro. So Luffy and Kid seem to never really fight each other but only be rivals almost friends. One step back from Luffy and Law relationship, rivals(not exactly but Oda kind of force that at rooftop) and friends.
Can't say Mera Mera no Mi is one of the strongest DF giving all the nerfs towards fire. Everybody reproducing fire, Luffy having "GUTS" against fire, Magma "eating" fire. The whole Logia class got heavily nerfed by Haki introduction and Yami Yami no Mi. At New World the most logical strongest DF class should be Zoans since they increase user's stats. But Oda doesn't make sense at all with his portrayals and power levels/scales.
I don't think Oda repeting the same formula is bad thing, but how he do it is what makes it bad. The worst thing after timeskip undoubtly is pacing. Oda extending arcs for no reason. I personally like Zou Arc as one of the best post timeskip arcs. Small, quick arc with enough action and story.

Cause Luffy's goal and purpose is bigger than both of them
You are denying the fact that OP "boom" was like 10 years ago and was nowhere close to the sales of KnY.
You keep comparing Overall Volume Sales while the real comparison is sales per volume which KnY CRUSHES OP best sold volumes. KnY being an ended works means nothing. We have a lot of ended works that never sold that good as OP. This is pure bullshit. What about Naruto? It was finished and didn't exploded like those 2 works. And way less volumes than OP.
Also you said bullshit about Luffy's goal and purpose being greater than Roger and WB. Luffy's goal and purpose should be exactly the same of Roger if not smaller. Luffy just wants to be free and he thinks PK is the way to go. Roger wanted to discover about Void Century and stuff, probably fulfilling a quest but he was to early to do it.
WB is debatable, he just wanted a family each is not that hard to obtain but mantaining that family it is. So a father's goal and purpose is much greater than single man wanted to be free and having a meaningless title(since PK is not really ruling over pirates).

As I claimed the combination of the pandemic plus the notion it's closing in to its end crystal clearly contributed. Nonetheless, the trend will possibly be reversed soon and likely definitely once the series comes to a closure.

Sales are dropping. How the hell are you saying OP is becoming more popular? Based on what? You are explaining things but I'm asking for facts. Where is the fact that One Piece is becoming popular? After that we can discuss why it is becoming popular.

I have no specific insight on the sales but I figured the One Piece internet communities populated quite a lot since the pandemic came to a start, I assume this is probably an indicator of an additional interest as well other than merely a natural consequence of people staying at home for longer since the gap looks quite Big for merely the latter. The sales however could be explained as the pandemic reduced the chance and the willingness expecially to buy content, even online.

So it's just mere especulation of you. And that bullshit of "people don't have money to buy OP because of pandemics"... Really? After KnY selling 80mi last year? And you make sound like OP is dropping only at 2020 when it is happening for long time each year selling less than year before. Wano started before pandemic. Remember that.
