To be honest aCOC is poorly explained. First we were led to believe that it was no touching but we have several instances of Luffy/Kaido touching each other while using it.
Still, no reason to believe Luffy is holding back here when he literally using his strongest form while complaining about being unable to hurt them

Yes, and punches made by G5 against Kaido had Haki trails. Just like that one instance against Kizaru, where Oda specifically decided to visualize Haki trails when using the White Star Gun, while here suddenly there is not a single instance of black lightning leaking. The rule was established by Oda himself, when in each instance, Luffy and Kaido had Haki trails leaking from their attacks. Your fanbase just randomly established the idea that Luffy always has to use ACoC, especially in G5.

This is how Oda writes, and it's pretty obvious that Oda is in the process of hyping up Warcury's defense, just as he did for the Seraphim. Demanding consistency just because Luffy is looking bad right now is rather petty as I've never seen you complain about inconsistencies before this for any other character. With that in mind, one can say that you're pushing an agenda for Luffy.
