Tis a bit gutting but personally, I would rather compete in my natural weight class than dehydrate myself like a feckin raisin just to have a competitive advantage over athletes that are naturally in a lower weight class.

They were apparently giving her IV fluids after the disqualification to rehydrate her. If this is as common as that doctor claims then they should the sport committees should do something about this cause that is just unnatural. :risicheck:
It's quite normal.


I read that athletes do get out of weight class easily - climate, water intake, sodium intake are just few of many reasons behind it.

And, some deliberately keep a bit higher weight (more muscles) to reduce before the matches - because this way they will have more muscle mass as on last minute you can only lose water weight.



And, recovery takes like that as well


It's quite a norm....and a difficult one.


And, then to miss out by 100 grams when you won all the bouts till the finals... that's heartbreaking
