Who's stronger and why ?

I see Phinks winning high diff. To me theyre around the same tier but Phinks edges him out.

I see Phinks as an Adult Gon with less potential. However I see him easily being able to dish out harder hits then Uvogin, whilst Uvogin is more so the full body specialist. More durability based.

So Phink's hatsu (similar to Gon) is based around enhanced KO. Whilst Uvogin is more so based around enhanced Ren. But even if Phinks durability is less, I still see him faster than Uvogin. So being a speedy hard hitter helps.

Uvogin may have higher potential since he doesnt use restrictions like Phinks does. However I still think Phinks restrictions let him reach higher heights than Uvo's.

Phinks best feat is one shotting a fodder tier ant that wasn't even defending itself, Uvogin's best feat is destroying the arm of Emperor Time Kurapika who is one of the strongest characters in the verse and Uvogin himself was confident it would've destroyed Kurapika's spine and killed him if Kurapika didn't sacrifice his arm to avoid it.

And they're both Enhancers yet only one of them is the physically strongest in the Troupe and it isn't Phinks.

Kurapika beat the dumbest PT member who didnt even use gyo in a nen fight lol. Not only is Chrollo and the rest of the spiders far more competent, they also have infomation that he is conjurer. His little trick wouldnt work on any Spider.

Kurapika is far from the stronget in the verse. Just has one ability that can foil the spiders...but who tf knows how he will land it.

Uvo was def strong, but Uvo died quick

And i feel like Feitan / Phinks are portrayed to be the big things in the PT fighting wise

Yeah Uvo was 1st in arm strength and Phinks second but it doesn't tell you everything

You can say that Phinks hatsu has no limits : imagine if he makes 100000 spins lol.

Uvo can be stronger but given their respective roles in the story i still bet on Phinks to be the best of the two.

The only stats I see Uvo having better than Phinks is durability. Phinks deffo has better AP and I also think hes faster. Being Feitans partner, hes probably up their with his speed.

In my opinion, Uvogin is (was) the strongest combatant of the troupe. I mean, he's kinda like Kaido of HxH... I think that he could only be beaten by his peers via dirty tactics (2v1, 3v1, ambushs, etc.) or a counter (e.g.: Kurapika's chains). Look at what Nobunaga says about him:


"He loved to fight more than anything"... "he wouldn't have lost in a fair fight". It implies that Uvogin was the strongest (pure) combatant of the troupe. Enhancers by nature tend to be better than the other nen types in combat, and Uvogin was the most battle-focused PT member.


Well, but Phinks is an enhancer too, right?... so why would he lose against Uvogin? Well, his way of fighting seems to be pretty straightforward too... he might be faster, but he doesn't seem to be multiskilled (Uvogin actually was the one who showed more versatility in his fight against the Shadow Beasts). Phinks is a close-range fighter and needs time to charge-up... I really doubt that Uvogin would just wait to be punched like the chimera ant gorilla.

Another point to consider is that Chrollo initially wanted Uvogin to be the leader of the troupe. It was Uvogin himself that (rightly, showing a very nice awareness) declared Chrollo to be the most suitable leader. I believe that Chrollo appointed Uvo as the leader because he was the strongest.


So, in short, my arguments are:
  1. Uvo was, according to Nobunaga and himself, unbeatable in a fair fight and was portrayed as the strongest in his youth;
  2. Chrollo appointed Uvo as the PT leader, but he refused;
  3. Both Uvo and Phinks are straightforward, close-range enhancers, and Uvo seems to be the best in the PT in that department.

I would say however that Nobunaga was pretty emotional and can't be taken seriously. His statement could be arguments for Uvogin > Chrollo....but we know thats not true. So what does a fair fight mean to Nobunaga. Just pure brawling ? Is that really considered a nen fight.

That was when they were kids. Im not denying Kid Uvo > Phinks. This is before Nen, of course Uvogin has higher physical stats than Phinks. We know this from the arm wrestling rankings.

Uvogin and Phinks fight in 2 different ways. Uvogin fights with no restrictions and tries to hone his abilities to reach his potential. Whilst Phinks uses a restriction to bring out his potential. Uvogin has no weakness but he hits weaker than Phinks. 2 different ways of fighting.

Yeah, Phinks' hatsu has 1, maybe 2 restrictions, but it's too slow to charge. How many rotations do you think is sufficient to seriously hurt Uvo? With his normal punches (even if nen enhanced), he probably wouldn't be able to do much, since he couldn't hurt the chimera ant gorilla (unless you think that Uvo was less durable than it).


Btw, he even admits that he isn't good at calculating the aura needed for an attack, so he might be as careless as Uvo when fighting (in other words, he's a typical enhancer too). 😂


Ofc, Phinks might have something else under his sleeve, his greatest (in panel) opponent so far was a fodder ant, but until now he was shown to be a perfect matchup for Uvogin. Additionally, Uvo, as Chrollo himself stated, would've more trouble against conjurers and manipulators.


This one info is another reinforcement to my theory that Uvo was the strongest pure combatant of the troupe, as most of its top members are enhancers, transmuters or emitters (Feitan, Phinks, Franklin, et al.). Yeah, Nobu was emotional in his speech about Uvo, but none of the PT members or even the author himself ever rebutted this... quite the opposite.
