Has Wano been the worst Arc in OP?

Wano weekly has been better than Dressrosa and WCI were, two arcs that (Dressrosa especially) are very much getting the benefit of people rereading in bulk, or having read through it all at once.
You hit the nail on the head.
You right every altercation is synthetic
Every single “tense” situation is artificial

Antagonizing Characters always have a checkmate against them crafted in such cheap “in our face” forms…

Apoo runs with Virus: Marco shows up
Queen passes Virus + locks Floor: Chopper creates antidote in 0.1 seconds

Beast Pirates Exist: Tama Arrives
Big Mom exists: Tama Arrives
Page one and Ulti exists: Tama Arrives
Ulti exists: Zeus joins Nami
Kaido exists: Luffy plot armor
Kaido and Big Mom exists: Luffy plot armor

All artificial battles with no sort of setbacks or repercussions (except for Zoro battles (which why we love Zoro))

The reason Mr. Morj says the raid will fail is because there is zero sense of real urgency and everything feels like a superficial extension of plot only to be extended by some other Joe average character to get their mediocre portrayal of shine. I could go on but if I did I’d prepare a college dissertation level of writing on such a stupidly long and mediocre arc.
It was hyped but it’s fallen sadly short so far. There’s no feeling of urgency or fear. There’s been so many plot device characters just showing up there’s no reason to wonder how they’ll get out of a jam.

1. How will they stop the virus
Marco has just the power that perfectly counters this

2. How will they help the scabbards
Someone’s there’s to heals them then dips

3. How will they deal with the vast number difference
Tama

4. How will Zoro deal with being taken out so early
Magic medicine that was never hinted at

Like there’s been plot after plot that it literally shows the alliance doesn’t need to plan or strategize because plot will rescue them…
Reading Wano weekly is frustrating because you give yourself some false hope that it's all a "calculated" misdirection by Oda.

Reading Wano in bulk/in one go, from chapter 909 to chapter 1021, is just so laughably sad and awful. You truly realize how so little "content" is in this arc.

Chapter 909, I implore you, if you have time to waste, re-read the Wano arc again.

We know absolutely nothing about why Wano is special, or how the Kozuki clan came to be allied with the minks hundreds of years ago. We know absolutely nothing about how the poneglyph are even crafted or why the Kozuki clan are the only ones able to craft it. We know absolutely nothing about...

But we do know Tana's blood type, her favorite food, the blood type of her teacher or whatever Tenguyama, his favorite food, his favorite teapot, what kind of Devil Fruit that teapot consumed, etc...

Wano hasn't lived up to my expectations YET, but there's a reason why people theorize on literally everyone who is important in the One Piece world to still show up sooner or later.

Blackbeard, Shanks, the Marines, Vegapunk, the Strawhat Grand Fleet, the Revolutionaries, all of them and even more are speculated to arrive at some point, and most of them even make sense. Only half of them are needed to make the Marineford Arc look cute in retrospect, and depending on the result of this war (for example two Yonko dying) it's even more likely that we will get something that will have consequences on an even larger scale. Those are the expectations I had and only the end of the arc can crush them.

Lmfao keep dreaming dude. This arc is not going to have anymore useless characters jumping in. The way this arc is going to end is that Big Mom will get yet another hunger pain and in the process damage Kaido then Luffy ass pull power up will defeat Kaido, the end.
Yeah, I intend to "keep dreaming" because that mindset is a lot healthier for me and for the people on this forum, rather than reading something that you obviously don't enjoy anymore and bombarding every possible thread with half-assed explanations why everything sucks.

And considering that I have liked about 80% of this arc so far, I don't even have to dream about it. :myman:

Dressrosa was arduous to read weekly and the anime’s pacing did not make it better, but the arc became significantly more enjoyable to binge read in the end and a lot of people came around to appreciate it. As for Wano, we should wait until the arc is finished to truly judge.

WCI was worse: half the crew, only Luffy get to shine, arc of Sanji but he did get just the cake plot, Pudding was bad, huge levels of plot power in order to make the plot go on. Final chapter of the arc (900) was a big middle finger fake climax chapter, BM instead of being the first terrible fod that an emperor of the seas should be was stupid and the biggest aid to Luffy and co. Weeeding cake.. Wano is still far from this standard at least. Kaido is not Doffy as a villain but is still acceptable, the rooftop battle was not bad, we get the SHs fight together after Dressrosa and finally for real, also Zoro vs King and Sanji vs Queen. It is for sure more interesting than WCI.

Yep being delusional and creating false expectations head canons on a series that is over 1000 chapters and 25 years, surely is great for this forum and you. No wonder one piece still have brainwashed fans that continue to eat up anything he writes. Oda marketing team really is the GOAT when it comes to brainwashing their fanbase.

Wano has some good moments but definitely not living up to all the hype that was created since Thriller bark.

I think it mainly suffers due to the lack of sense of danger. Kids included changing the tide of the war is what ruins it.

When you see these badass zoan users in Punk Hazzard, and when you hear they were 500 of them, first thing that came on my mind? Every single one of them tamed by eating the cheeks of an 8 year old! What an amazing idea!

And then the stalling for condom's chapter 1000 moment. Totally unnecesary. Why can't he have just a naturally paced chapters who cares about a special chapter dedicated to number 100.

Oda didn't learn a single thing out of Dressrosa which suffered from similar issues. In that list I will include Fishman Island, Punk Hazzard too while not long arc's, they could have been a lot shorter for the content they provided but had to drag Caesar's and Hody's ass for multiple rounds.
