Pondering upon life and Death - BleakAsh

#24
I have a rather naturalistic world view, I don't believe in the supernatural, but like to entertain that thought. After Death, we are probably gone, at least our consciousness. Though I like the idea of panpsychism, that the fundamental particles themselves possess something like a proto-consciousness, or something you would call spiritual, which, in its gathering, forms our consciousness. And upon death, we become part of a more collective universal consciousness. Dunno though.

As for eternal life, I'd take it. Don't understand the people that would not like to. I mean, we can potentially evolve endlessly, ending up colonizing the galaxy and explore new worlds. I doubt you would ever get bored. Just take the last 5000 years. Do you think the people living 5000 years ago would've gotten bored seeing how the world is transforming to the highly technological world we have today? We all like to read history. But with an eternal life, you would experience all of the remaining history. And in case you want to die anyways, you can still give yourself a headshot, right? (Doubt that most of the people who claim they don't want an eternal life, would actually do it once having it).
Eternal life would be bliss ONLY IF, the problem is some of us maintain belief's to the contrary you believe in, like fundamental multiplicity of consciousness which if are independent would suggest everything has a will but you don't need to test the theory out to know that everything is indefinite.. its either that they are indefinite and not eternal or are eternal and don't comprise of our existence but just act as one existence that governs the reality we know

you can derive a buncha holes in the theory but respect that thought nonetheless

Or maybe eternal life in a digital immortality way :beanmean:
digital lfe is just a spec in external reality that we observe.. if we physically die then digital life would be meaningless and redundant

I can't wait for death, not bcs of some EMO reason or heaven.

I just think the whole purpose of life is to have a death where you can say - Damn, i've lived a good life.

And i can find solace in that moment, the last and final reflection on what i have done and be happy with it and accept my time has home

is he gonna regret not shitting fully?
like comon ik it sounds a bit too cliche but striving for a good end is necessarily dying on a golden throne.

more like satisfactory death

I only want eternal life if it's eternal youth/middle age, because living forever while continously getting older with your body becoming more and more useless sounds like shit

Well, eternal life assumes eternal youth. Getting older and having your body decay is precisely why we are not immortal and die at a certain age.

in quantum physics, we actually may be living forever... every time you die you just die in the onother universe but keep on living in the one you observe... I actually survived impossible and can believe it to be true... but the worst part of it is, you do get hurt, you will get old, you wont be able to move , see or hear in the very end, and you will continue to exist in such place forever... maybe until you start living in the universe of your own creation from all the delusions such immortality will bring
