Because I don't remember Kaido trying to challenge WB until Marineford, even though he could have used Oden's death to instigate war and get the epic fight that he allegedly wanted.
I do wish we could have had a fight between them.

After Roger's death, he was considered the top dog of the seas until his own death. Due to his indifference towards high-sounding goals (he already achieved his dream by having a family), the world maintained a certain stability. His death marked the rise of Blackbeard, who took his former captain's territories (which he knew inside out, so his own intel of the WB Pirates helped him a lot), and allowed Kaido and Big Mom to further their own agendas (WB was a "barrier" for their goals; if Newgate didn't exist, there would be probably only two emperors — the worst two out of the og Yonko — and the New World would be even more chaotic).
I guess that he indirectly helped the "mid generation" (e.g.: the Red Hair Pirates, the Sun Pirates, Dragon, Mihawk, et al.) to grow, thus being a key figure to Luffy's own development, as he was motivated to go out to the seas by Shanks.

you do realize no one takes you serious on this server 99% of the time?
there is plenty of factors that come into play that you would know if you actually read or paid attention to the story:
the ironclad rule of the sea was not to touch WBs sons - the Marines did in Ace and they made it a public spectacle.
Oden wasnt apart of the crew and Thatch was an exception cause even WB knew Teach was him and that Ace couldnt handle him.
read the manga for once OP is more than just grand anime adapted inflated flashy fights

- WB believed Ace was to be the true PK, due to Roger, Will of D and his survival being crucial for the future being destined for greatness
- Oden was already dead and so was his entire family presumed as such - WB isn't a vengeful person and intervening in Wano for such would be a massive war that it would cause even more severe damage to Wano overall - if Oden was able to or did ever ask for help from WB that would be a different story and he wouldve been willing to aid. Whitebeard stated that even if they won, the cost in civilian lives and the lives of his own crew would be too high for a revenge mission that could not bring Oden back.
- WB respected Odens own choice, it was his choice to eave his crew it was his choice to attempt to free Wano himself internally without aid and Odens own freedom.
- Lack of information - WB never heard of any issues from Wano or Oden only after the fact.
- there is a thing called reason & consequences - revenge & protection these are key points
- Public Execution from Marines this was a direct challenge from Marines against WB - it wasn't simply cause Ace was captured it was due to the factors of his capture that forced WB to make a move. (manga cannon)
- Sickness - WB would have rather died an honorable death protecting his family than succumbing to illness
- WB had already attempted to save Ace from going after Teach and even after being confronted by Shanks understood he should have stopped ace and is why they attempted to save him
