For people who are trying to explain to me how words work, you sure are leanant on avoiding basic language subtilities. No, it's not "hand in hand", it's a major difference that any english person can understand. One implies a present observation of a lack of understanding while the other implies a clear impossibility present or future. Don't try to trick your way out of this.
