That doesn't necessitate him fearing Kaido though. Just like you assumed WB didn't fear Kaido but still didn't go even tho he had more of a reason to go than Gabban and Rayleigh, ofc through the virtue of his portrayal, why can't we say the same for Gyabbun who fought be besides Roger against the Elites of Rox Pirates

More likely implication from this thread is prime ray was barely yonko level because someone who might be below him in the pecking order was certainly not on that level .

In Gaban's case, he specifically links his visit to Wano to the fact that Kaido is not around anymore.
The God Valley point does not prove much because we don't know who fought against whom. Going in with no fear is irrelevant. It would be like saying that since Kid and Law didn't fear facing Kaido/Big Mom on roofpiece, it somehow means they are on the same level or equals.
Also he fears Loki per this chapter

The issue here and why people use it in a power sense is Roger’s inclusion.
Roger, Rayleigh, Gaban weren’t standing on the same level of a hierarchy like the two mentioned above since Roger Was the indisputed captain. And the terms never used in a physically standing side by side sense either. As such the only meaning this could be is in a power sense with the three standing on the same level of power.
that still doesn't mean that he fears kaido... but to say that he'd loose isn't inaccurate.. The same could be Said about Whitebeard 2 years Ago in Marine Ford. So where is this "fear" interpretations coming from

I think this is one occasion where some zfans put their hatred for sanji fans above their own self interest .
Viz or tcb, what they described in simple terms is the relationship that currently exist with luffy zoro and sanji . a 1, 2 and 3 . How strong gaban was or could have been hasnt changed.

If the right and left hand arent comparable in power and authority, there is no need for a left hand man. Its inventing a position that has no need.
