On onigashima, Big Mom betrays Kaido, and is able to get a giant slash off on him with napoleon. Somehow, big mom learns the truth about Mother carmel and goes into her crying/defenseless state. With her will broken and her defenses down, Kaido is able to easily knock out big mom and her crew.
The alliance is easily able to take out most of the beast pirates, including both the numbers, the tobi roppo, and most of Orochi's subordinates. However Orochi, the calamities, and kaido still haven't been taken out.
Seeing themselves outnumbered, they retreat. Or at least that's how it appears. From the poneglyphs of Onigashima or perhaps from yamato, we learn that the ancient weapon Uranus is actually located at the peak of Mount fuji and that Kaido is attempting to use it to destroy wano and after which he will use to wage war on the world.

I'd expect Luffy will at best only in the very end briefly gain the appearance of keeping up with Kaido directly (and maybe to a much lesser extent near the beginning...). But aside from that, he will be just a weapon to do a certain kind of damage and try to stay alive, as one part of a team of 2 or 3 (with possible contributions from others).
But it will probably be way more complicated than that, with other factors playing a role during the war, as Oda sees it as his mission to not be predicted.

I'm not saying he would be Yonko level, i'm saying that there's nothing shocking or magical about Luffy reaching Yonko level end Wano if it happens, literally nothing. We will have reached chapter 1xxx when that occurs, it would showcase the large jumps in power for all the worst generation pirates.
Luffy especially went through mud and blood since the start of Yonko saga all the way up until now, he is the strongest non-emperor pirate with 2 fully advanced Haki types and unmatched physical strength by any Yonko commander, has the strongest non-Yonko crew (a freaking warlord), has his own subordinate crews, 3 Road Poneglyphs (end of Wano), a character that can decipher Poneglyphs and is included in Im's personal hunt list alongside Teach foreshadowing Ancient Weapons. That's a huge ass success for a non-emperor pirate. You telling me after all the shit he went through and after 200+ chapters of building him as the a new emperor the prospect of him becoming "Yonko" is unfathomable? He better drop his dream in the nearest trashcan then, lmfao.

All the stuff yous aid makes sense except the power jump luffy would have to go through. That would be absllute bullshit for him to get there in a few days. It would devalue the top tier position way too much. And its bold of you to assume they have nothing to offer plot wise after wano, since we practically know nothing about kaido and his ambitions and big mom having ties with the elbaf giants too.
Whatever Kaido's backstory is it's irrelevant to what happens after Wano. His main plot is conquering Wano alongside Orochi and killing Oden whose prophecy said after 20 years he would fall, basically your regular Crocodile/Doffy villain who conquers a kingdom. When Kaido and Orochi fall, that's it for their antagonist roles.
Big Mom's annoying ass better be disposed this arc. "She has ties with Elbaf" so what? what purpose does she serve when she comes back at Elbaf as antagonist for the third fucking time? So that giants tell her she ate few irrelevant children at her birthday? Luffy would be strong enough to exterminate BMP by that time. Arlong had ties with Fishman island and didn't appear either. Just because her flashback was in Elbaf doesn't mean we have to see her as an antagonist again.

I know the prophecy but kaido can be booted out of wano without falling/dying. His goal is to die anyways and one piece villains never achieve their goal. He has shown interest in talking to the scabbards about something. And you cant say its irrelevant to what happens after wano because you dont know it. Basicallly, you're specualting justa s much as i am.
