Isn't this hate about her tic a bit exaggerated? I mean, is that more annoying than Luffy bragging about becoming the Pirate King every ten minutes before getting his ass kicked all over again? Of course, she's popular because of her looks, but there are two other components that make Yamato a great character. She has a likeable personality and she fights like a man, which isn't something that comes naturally in One Piece. No feminine elegance like Boa Hancock, no crying, just a beast in battle. In addition, there is a lot of potential that she still has. I'm already looking forward to her interaction with the other Straw Hats if she joins the crew. Yamato indeed brings a breath of fresh air to the stale plot.

Now that the character is complete, Yamato gets a 0/10. She was introduced at the last minute and shoved down the reader's throats with all her artifical connections to other important characters.

Worse thing about her is the Oden nonsense, not to mention that Oden is a terrible character himself. Oda completely shat on one of the biggest concepts which is being yourself and following your dreams, by having Yamato pretend she someone else and not realize her 20 year dream.

The character seems to have been created solely to boost Wano sales.

I second this opinion

Imo, the only drawback about Yamato is her obsession to become like Oden

Aside from that, she's a fine character.
I even like her interaction with Luffy in recent chapter (1057)
Strong non-princess type, energetic, dependable, yet easy-going and have free spirit
We don't have this type of character before for female character, so I'm happy with her character eventhough she feel like kinda late to be introduced

Yamato is an inspiration to me as a woman.
When she found her inspiration in Oden and everything he represents, she held on to it for years against almost everyone she knew, including her own father. Her only supporters were the three samurai for a very short period of time.
How she held on in this situation for years and years and never gave up is amazing.
She found her own wrong and right and held on to it despite everyone around her telling her the opposite.
Finally, a woman character in one piece I can really look up to.
10/10.
