he trained luffy in advanced coa and coo, and while he did get further training for A COA from hyo, ray still showed it to him......but no sign of telling him advanced coc, luffy only seem to figure what it is from kaidou. kaidou comment that only a handful can do it confirms it even more.

Rayleigh never taught Luffy any of the two stages of Advanced Armament haki, so the argument that "Rayleigh did not teach Luffy this haki, therefore he doesn't have it" is not valid.

Why did Oda explicitly show us his advanced internal destruction but choose Pirate King and Yonko level combatants to show adv CoC?

And I give him this BS. Mihawk didn't use any name attacks or haki yet people believe he will try so hard to get past those two. The manga made it very clear he wasn't trying or serious throughout the entire war.

Rayleigh didn't teach Luffy everything. He showed him barrier haki but didn't even teach him how to use it. Oda is still developing his manga. We didn't even see blackened haki pre TS.

Rayleigh only told Luffy the basics which he had to learn first. What's the point of teaching the advanced techniques when Luffy hasn't got the grasp of the very basics? Rayleigh also said you can't train to improve your CoC too.

he could have just told luffy that hey, there is this advanced coc, but you will figure it out later. anf even show it to him, like how he showed barrier haki to luffy when blocked elephant

i believe he has mastered the essence of common CoO..

advanced would be FS, Scope and etc that come in the domain of AcoO

sanji has nearly mastered CoO i'd argue and was capable of dodging Katakuri..
and you'd except Reyleigh in his prime to have disgusting instincts as well.

so having AcoO or not doesn't really matter it just and extra perk that you attain depending on what type of fighter you are..

For luffy he was fighting against Katakuri with average observation... and had to attain the next level... and he still till now admits or alludes to that he hasn't really mastered his common CoO completely..

Base Kaido vs. Old Rayleigh would be intriguing to watch, no kidding.

I have Kaido a tad weaker than Kizaru and Old Ray would probably lose to Non Awakened Kizaru, wonder if he would lose to Base Kaido as well. The gap between Base and Hybrid Kaido doesn't look too excessive for now however.

Prime Ray might indeed defeat Kaido at full power yes. It's still unclear how far he was from Roger, probably consistently far, but not massively.

Ray doesn't have FS but he had Adv CoA. Imo he most likely doesn't have it since Luffy doesn't even know anything about it until Kaidou and Hyo. But Oda retcon things all the time so if Ray knows it then its another layer of PIS for Luffy since TS

Ray showed how imposing Base stats can be. I have a hard time believing his CoO isn't better than Katakuri's lack of FS or not notwithstanding. For how efficiently he was tagging and reacting to Kizaru.

most people only hype Rayleigh to try and put him above shanks. He didn’t teach luffy about it because he doesn’t have it.

He only told luffy future sight exists and there’s mighty warriors who use it so he clearly doesn’t have that also.

Rayleighs supposed to be an armament specialist.

OT: Of course Rayleigh has it. He has all three kinds of Adv Haki, he knows about future sight but didn't teach Luffy, he knows how to break the collar without touching it but didn't teach Luffy, etc.
