Everybody is born with haki. He just hasn't learned how to use it. Whether he will have CoC has yet to be determined.

Oden has CoA haki and CoC/ACoC.

lt's just to give an idea of Haki progression for Swordsmen thus the " rough " part.. Oden would fall under the WSS path but he does not need to fulfill all the boxes.. His VoaT is irrelevant of his Haki progression as a Swordsmen.. But i will revise the fact that he has the VoaT with a Traditional Samurai learning Haki curve..

Mainly if you look at it.. Swordsmen for the WSS path learn Ryuo(Emission Haki) first, skipping the Base CoA and Hardening on the body..

l also say on this map AdCoC or CoC Coating is not for WSS path, something else.. Because CoC coating is around the Blade not on the Blade like a hardened Sword..

hakai is combined slash, zoro was Infront of it and had time to react to it and managed to hold it using barrier coa haki and

king's explosion was different , zoro was inside of the explosion and it happened Immediately the moment zoro stabbed king

so coating only the swords with haki wouldn't have saved him at all

Blocking with CoA on Blades is a pretty good method to defend yourself.. l think Zoro had time to react to king's explosion but it was even more clutch timing than Hakai.. Zoro would never put Haki on his body, it goes against his very essence as a Swordsman..
