There is a decent possibility of this happening. It's very likely that Catarina and Laffite are heading to Egghead. We don't know what their devil fruit abilities full potential are, but they can hypnotize and copy people's appearance.

If Catarina can copy a person's memories, then BB doesn't even need to capture Saturn, since all she needs to do is copy his appearance and bam they can pretend to have Saturn hostage. With all the chaos surrounding Egghead, Saturn can be killed, and no one would be wiser. But if they do then Teach can force Pudding to read Saturn's memories to find any juicy secrets that the WG has been trying to hide like the secret passages, what kind of abilities the Holy Knights and Gorosei have, Imu's existence. The possibilites are endless what Saturn's memories contain.

Its coming together now. It's just Kizaru and Saturn that remained on the island. While Kizaru is busy apprehending the strawhats (and fighting luffy again if luffy doesnt get captured), Saturn is fully vulnerable to be snatched by the black beard pirates. Saturn's antagonist role ended after the kuma punch wrapped up his plotline. Saturn will be taken and exploited by the bbp to set up blackbeards quest of taking over world. This is why Imu feared blackbeard and had his poster. The demise of gorosei and imu is starting soon, they are not the true endgame

The gorosei very very rarely ever leave marijoa. This is most likely due to how detrimental it would be if one of the gorosei were to be captured. The thing that the world government values most, is their secrecy. This is because they know if their secrets were to be revealed that would lead to their downfall, and therefor would desperately do anything to prevent this from happening. The reason the gorosei are now willing to risk leaving marijoa is because the situation has become so desperate since vegapunk is studying the void century.


A gorosei leaving marijoa is extremely rare and there is not a chance he will simply return back to marijoa. Obviously Oda is going to make something out of this to advance the plot. The major incident is obviously going to be a gorosei being captured which will lead to more of the government's secrets being leaked. Oda has also said that he was going to reveal more and more about the void century secrets.


While Kizaru and the marines have their hands full fighting the strawhats, whatever person on the blackbeard ship will come and abduct saturn. Laffite is the perfect person to hypnotise saturn and make him spill everything. This will be the starting step for blackbeard to make his moves of becoming king of the world.

garp is no where near as valuable as a gorosei
he doesnt know the secrets of the government and void century, he doesnt have a mysterious devil fruit

Core villain of this entire arc with no regard for his subordinates and a member of a large disinterested group is supposed to be who BB holds captive for chapters on end?

first of all, when was it said they were going to use garp as a "bargaining chip"?
all we know is that garp attacked them and was then defeated

And oda is shifting all the focus to the people now coming to egghead, that is the main event now, saturns narrative is over, oda gave us his kuma flashback to build up what a bad guy saturn is so that kuma could punch him and bonney and kuma could have their moment. Now that is done, story is moving on now.
