Speculations Sawyer7mage theorizes that Kuzan was made the 10th captain because Oda changed his mind about the 10th Strawhat

and?
Tama showed-up in the middle of that war and had a bunch of interaction with Nami and Ussop, strawhats she never interacted before.
Not only interactions but strong character moments, too many to count. An underrated one is this one where she motivates Ussop to be brave:

So your argument doesn't make any sense on top of not explaining why she was paired with Momo all the time. (Including motivating Momo as one of her strongest moments)
Wdym by "and?"

My argument is this

"It is also canon that Oda make Yamato says she will join every so often but suddenly didn't include her."

These things did happen in the manga. It's there in that pic. "I will sail", "I'm going out to the sea", etc.

Where is the part that it doesn't make sense? The manga panels literally said those exactly...

---

And why we include Tama? If you're trying to make a new nakama argument, sure, I can discuss this, if OP allows it.

My comment earlier is about the main post, where the topic is about Oda changing his mind. I use Yamato because it's the most recent one & also about 10th nakama.

I can use Tama and Carrot too, but there are only a few panels of them wanting to set sail/journey but Oda didn't follow through. Compared to Yamato who has more panels that Oda didn't follow through.

If I were to use them as examples, it's not as strong as Yamato's, regardless of what you want or what you think will join.

I mean that Yamato being in a war does not justify her not interacting with the strawhats at all. Especially so when she actually had meaningful exchanges with another character, Momo. Your argument about why she didn't interact with the strawhats during the raid being completely null thanks to Momo and Tama's scenes there.

It's also canon that Tashigi said she would collect all the great swords. It's also canon that BlackBeard said he'll become PK many times.
Does this mean these things will happen? Your only argument to support that Yamato was planned to join is "because she said so", while the narrative pointed in the opposite direction. Luffy even ignored her initial request when she was first introduced and said she couldn't be Oden, denying her main character trait that she kept enforcing throughout the raid.
Yamato not being included wasn't sudden, it was obvious to anyone with an above sufferance level reading comprehension. Her character is tied to Momo. The point being, Oda didn't change his mind. It's just that Yamato fans are still coping about why she didn't join.

Chopper right now : 😭😭😭
So Yamato fans are all praying someone decides to take her to the SHs?

so what? Will the straw hats stay on an island for weeks to months so Yamato can catch up to them?

I’m sorry but every time I hear a Yamato for nakama argument they become even more ridiculous. Also funny how Yamato stans also ignore the fact that both Momo and Kinemon were invited. It’s almost as if it was a symbolic invitation lol

I hope not… Vivi seems like a perfect candidate considering how she’s on the run from the WG, along with her saying that she wondered if she would see the Straw Hats again shortly before the Reverie started.

All Oda needs to do is tie it together, although he would also need to give Vivi something that can make her useful too.

So in the end this is actually about new nakama topic, alright.
If this is the context we're talking about, I will answer in this direction.

Like I said, Yamato is introduced in the middle of the war. Momo & Tama had been introduced before that. This prior relationship is what made their exchanges "meaningful" like you said.

If Yamato suddenly had a meaningful exchange, like the way you wanted, it would be baseless or unfounded. For me, that Franky & Yamato scene is enough.

"Your only argument to support that Yamato was planned to join is because she said so"

If you're talking about my first comment here, it's only that because I replied to the "changing decision" topic, not "why x is new nakama".

If I'm allowed to explain my case why I think Yamato is more likely to be new nakama, I have a lot to say. Like, pages. However it can be summarized into one thing, Yamato checks more boxes than the other candidates.

It's about if Oda changed his mind like I pointed out.

I'm referring to Yamato and Momo meaningful exchanges. Your reading comprehension IS really bad it seems, so I'll have to repeat myself...
Yamato had strong character moments with Momo and not any of the strawhats, this by itself invalidates the point that Oda didn't have the time due to her being in a war, Tama interactions with the strawhats further exposes this.
What prior relationship did Ussop and Nami have with Tama before the raid? They knew her name? You're making up headcanon to compensate for your lack of argument. Ussop and Tama didn't have a single exchange before she showed up and saved Nami from Ulti. I don't think they even shared a panel. Oda could have easily written Yamato doing the same and helping in one of the SH fights, but he didn't. The fact that you think Franky saying "who the hell was that?" is enough, when Tama was also responsible for Franky winning against Sasaki, is honestly hilarious.

I'm not interested on pages of cope from someone who can't even interpret a single post right. I bring up O-Tama because she exposes Yamato's flaws.

However it can be summarized into one thing, Yamato checks more boxes than the other candidates.
and yet, she decided to stay and was paired with Kin'emon and Momo while Tama got a okay to join next time they met in her own separate scene and is preparing to do so right now.
funny how that works :wellwell:

Sawyer claims that originally it was Teach, 10 captains and Kuzan. And in the Endgame it was gonna be Luffy and 10 Strawhats vs the Blackbeard pirates and Kuzan wouldn’t fight the strawhats so everyone had a match up

now apparently because Oda decided there is not gonna be a 10th Strawhat, he also dropped the 10th Captain. He added Kuzan in the spot so that Kuzan will bail in the endgame so that it remains luffy and 9 strawhats vs teach and 9 titanic captains

honestly, I buy it. There was clearly supposed to be a 10th Strawhat and Oda changed his mind so this kind of tracks
Considering the fact that Lolda is a fraud, this is likely to be true.

Par the course for Lolda, tbh. :beanmean:

There is a high possibility this is true.

It's really not a big deal though.

Changes like that happen all the time in weekly mangas.

It's not even a "problem" with this rewriting per se, there are just some minor consistency issues which Sawyer already pointed out (Smoker conversation, Teach phonecall, Doflamingo monologue about Kuzan).

Now let me start about that ending of Wano again though ....

There will be another SHP. The last post on the Sunny was already `teased´ by Jinbe during Wano.

So, obviously the SHP need someone, who can calmly observe the battle and evaluate the situation... .

Hence why Kuzan will either fight a SH or, if he leaves the BBP, BB will have to find a replacement for the 10th Titanic Captain.

Is Egghead the current arc? Haven’t been following Post Wano stuff like that. So Luffy told Jinbe and co his dream?
Yes, Luffy told every SH his real dream.
i see the strawhats luffy told his dream to as the final ones
perhaps oda's mind wasnt changed
but never thought aokiji would fight a strawhat
Actually in chapter 1000 we learn that Yamato already know about true Luffy's dream

Vivi could join SH, but she is not a fighter, and probably will be considered like Toki in Roger's pirates crew. Toki wasn't fighter either

It's Tama. Tama was the best strategist at onigashima as she was the one who came up with the plan to turn the gifters using her power by herself, with was decisive for the strawhats individual fights. Kuzan will leave the BBP but Tama will fight Stronger in a 2v2 alongside Chopper.

It's you who made this into new nakama topic bro. You basically steer it down to "Yamato doesn't have meaningful interaction, Tama does, so the oni can't be the new nakama".

I'm just saying that the panels is implying X, but the conclusion is actually Y. This answer of mine reflects Oda's changing direction, the point I'm trying to get across. If anything, both Tama and Carrot are also included because all three are supposed to join, but they didn't.

So I could write "Tama is primed to be SH apprentice like Shanks & Buggy, especially when she wore the straw hat like Nami did back in Arlong Park" and the point is still the same, x intentions but y conclusion.

Your other examples of Tashigi and Blackbeard didn't have their "intentions" concluded, but Yamato does.

In the end, your post is about Tama having this advantage for new nakama over Yamato, and you who emphasize that only this advantage is the sole requirement for a new nakama.

Since you're focusing on new nakama & their eligibility, then what about Carrot and Yamato's other advantages over Tama that they have but she doesn't? Are you gonna ignore those because only your SH requirements must be used?

You were defending that Oda changed his mind last minute about making Yamato the 10th strawhat, even using Momo calling out for Yamato in chapter 1057 as an example. My point is that throughout Onigashima, Yamato was never written as we would expect a new strawhat to be. Every week, Yamato fans kept coming up with new copes about how Oda was saving those moments for later, and they never came. Bonding or even just interacting with the strawhats is a very clear example of this, but I could point out others like her personal story having no relevance or emotional attachment to the conclusion of the arc. Luffy never thought of Yamato while fighting Kaido. While that fight was happening Yamato played the role of Momo's cheerleader, and when Kaido was finally defeated, her father and the cause of her decades long imprisonment, all we got from Yamato was a smiley face while she looked at Momo.

and I'm saying that her entire character was written as Momo's foil, not a strawhat. (To the point of being a combination of Oden and Kaido like Momo is) There was never a change in direction. From her introduction Luffy ignored her request of joining and ordered her to protect Momo soon after. Yamato fans ignored the signs but the narrative never pointed in the direction of her joining. The only thing you have in defense of her joinning is her saying she will, like Tashigi saying she will collect all great swords.

No you can't. While Yamato's conclusion was her deciding to stay, Tama's conclusion was her deciding to join.

Your other examples of Tashigi and Blackbeard didn't have their "intentions" concluded, but Yamato does.
So you think that Tashigi has a chance of collecting all great swords? Will you think Oda changed his mind if BB doesn't become PK?

Those simply don't exist.
