In the end the flaws dont really matter , one piece is a shounen series . Oda is not perfect unlike fans nametagging him , i probably think people here take damn too seriously with power debates .

Whitebeard is not main cast of the story so oda can make him say stuff he cant fight.

By the time news of Wano's fate reached the WB pirates the logical conclusion was to assume that all of Oden's family and scabbards were dead, they weren't there for Toki's words so the prophecy doesn't matter. Most of Oden's family and friends were either in hiding, literally missing from time or dead.

From WB's perspective:
-Oden returns to Wano, which due to it's closed off nature has it's events rarely told outside of it.
-Years later it's publicly known that Kaido has made Wano his base and that Oden is dead and since WB doesn't know about Toki's last moments, he and Izo probably had no choice but to accept the death of their friends.
-Attacking Wano at that point would have been purely out of revenge, and as much as you want to downplay Kaido's crew, it's still really fucking big so a full scale war would've broken out.
-WB is no Luffy, he had full awareness of his position in the political world of OP. A war between the WB and Beasts pirates by itself would have already endangered the people of Wano, while also attracting the attention of BM and the Marines.

All that said, it is entire possible that Oda had to retcon things or retroactively add context in a sloppy way, the man's not a god and One Piece's story is huge as it is.

To me some some strangest behaviors come from Inu, Neko and Izo.

Neko and Inu weren't at Oden's castle to actually see Toki send the others forward in time, so chances are their knowledge was similar to that of Ashura, Denjiro and Kawamatsu, only knowing of Toki's last words but having no actual proof that anything would happen until Raizo came back. Unlike the others however, Inu and Neko got to leave Wano and return to Zou, so it honestly surprises me that they apparently never met WB again.

Izo's behaviour is more strange in the sense that we never got a clear reason why he just decided to stay with WB and never help Oden in the first place.

There's also the implication that not being a saint means being scum.
WB is still a pirate that steals and kills while living in a world where many countries are ruled by evil pirates, a corrupt monarchy or a corrupt World Goverment altogether.
Old man clearly cared a lot about his family but was still selfish and definitely no hero.

Oda literally killed WB again in a flashback, it would have been 1 million times better to have shown that WB had already decided to go to wano but when that came the news that Ace had been handed over to the navy and so he had no other choice to go to MF
Yeah he Could Have Written It This Way , At This Point he Is Just Gasping , Waiting To end One Piece As Soon as Possible Oh Oda how far You Have Fallen

Whitebeard was never a reckless person. He avoided major wars at all cost. His stints with Roger were nothing but friendly clashes otherwise pre-pubescent Buggy and Shanks would be fucked.

Ace was a major exception, because Ace was the successor of the Whitebeard Pirates. When Whitebeard was gone, it was Ace who'd protect the family.

All i can say his conversation with roger set something

He knew wano will be first step towards major war.

Will of D Roger spoke about and its connection to laughtale and oden said he didnt want his friends to help him with this mission. Maybe roger conveyed same to whitebeard.

With all of this WB was playing waiting game untill there was right time for someone to take this mantle. I do think he wanted Ace to grow stronger and never said anything about not fighting kaido.

Of course there are catch up scenrio why didnt WB set things up i think its just plot device . The story is about luffy's journey so anything Whitebeard creating easy platform will be seen as golden spoon.

Oda decided to retcon whitebeard being unavailable to oden when he died.

Hehehehaha @Den_Den_Mushi when you post one time, it almost becomes an event xD
You're getting more pushback than I thought you would. From people I was sure would agree with ya. Oh well.. Can't win every time

I do agree with you, I think these new chapters have made WB's character muddled and confusing.
It is true he didn't go after BB after Thatch was killed. So that is a point they have against us Tyrants xD

But I will point out that from the way people talked about WB, people who knew his character better than the average Joe. WB seemed like someone who would go above and beyond to protect his own. Another thing is, he was in my opinion shown to be a pretty benevolent individual. Saving Fishman Island and taking it under his own protection. So our chagrin from seeing him leave Wano and Oden's family to its faith really does leave a poor taste in my mouth.
