Oda could just answer all of them, but that isn’t enough, he also decides to add in that Rayleigh can do it as well.

That just makes it natural to compare Shanks and Ray’s haki, necause the author himself did it without being prompted.

Rayleigh was luffys teacher for the past 2 years teaching him how to use haki conquers included. Makes sense he was mentioned with how important he was to luffys haki growth and connection to shanks and luffy

Them being able to ko the maximum there =/= they can ko the same amount. If there were only 100 there and all 3 wete able to ko them all it obviously doesn't mean their conquerors is equal
For all we know shank could have ko'd 100,001 or even 500,000 we don't know

They were only able to ko 100,000 because thats how many their were. Could they ko more? Yes probably but we don't know the max either could do
And were comparing 2 top tiers haki to luffys straight out of the timeskip. Like obviously they'd be a good amount better

Ace, Hancock and Whitebeard had all also been confirmed as CoC users by then.

Now, Oda could have went for Shanks and Whitebeard, showing the two Yonkos, he could have said something like Luffy 50,000, Ace 60,000, Shanks 100,000, showing the difference between them all, but instead he decides to pick Shanks and Rayleigh.

That naturally makes this conversation one worth having. The two are compared by the author when it wasn’t necessary for him to do so.

First of all, Oda simply says they would have knocked out all those 100k fishmen there. Doesn't mean they couldn't knocked out more if there was more or that they would knocked out always the same amount.

Second, here Oda says CoC only knocks out who are incredibly weaker than you. But that is not true since Ace and Doffy at age 8-11(not sure what age) are knocking out adults that manage to trap them and are clearly stronger.

Third, Oda says that with training and practice you can control CoC. So that line of Rayleigh about CoC not being able to train is only about CoC strength not CoC control. That being said Luffy can perfectly help Zoro how to control his CoC to not knock out his nakamas like Nami, Robin, Sanji.
