Controversial Shanks whole purpose is Teach

So back at the days of Reverie a part of fandom was being headcannon about Shanks talking about Luffy to Gorosei because he somehow is a villain that is using Luffy for whatever the fuck they think since they also think Shanks is the strongest motherfuck to ever exist although he can't tank a Sea King bite or Teach nails and this headcannon movement #ShanksIsVillain got even more power with Oda mental challenged decision of retconning Luffy DF since Luffy being just a rubber man means he is too weak to beat Kaido and then Shanks would have talked about Luffy DF to Gorosei to justify they being morons for 2 years and not going after Luffy before.

But that is very far from the truth. How the fuck an orphan kid whose parents abandoned probably at birth (Film Red is not canon) or maybe was handled to pirates by their own hands since they hated him so much (mom got fat and legs too wide and depressed) would know more than living beings that controls the world for at least a good 50 years but possibly to centuries?

Of course Shanks was completely clueless of Luffy DF. Then why he went to talk to Gorosei and about who?

Of course that would be Teach. Shanks whole reason of living is Teach. He was made because of Teach. Everything that Shanksnever did on manga was because of Teach.

Back when he was young and first met Teach he decided his life goal was yo be strong enough to defeat him. That's why when Roger died and Buggy asked if he would be the next Pirate King and go after One Piece he said he wasn't ready. Then he went to challenge Teach and lost but won a cool new skin or add-on whatever you rather to call. But what about Mihawk? Shanks got friend of Mihawk so he could train without dying and knowing he would have to be at least Mihawk level to defeat Teach and when he lost his arm to a Sea King and met Mihawk this laughed on his face and advised him to stop challenging Teach since he can't even beat a East Blue Sea King. But of course Shanks would not listen he was already obsessed with that rustic dirty strong and big man. So he kept on his journey using his crew to aid his uselessness as we can see at Marineford with Shanks going to stop Akainu while sending the strongest crewmember after Kizaru the strongest marine. Going back a little we can also see how he tries to make an alliance with Whitebeard to go after Teach since he wasn't comfortable allying with Ace was still too risky. And then he tried to ally with Gorosei explaining how Teach was strong dangerous and hunting DFs but even Gorosei thought Shanks was too weak to ally with in fact that's the whole reason they allowed Shanks to meet them they knew they could handle him if he tried anything they would have never allowed any other Yonko of history to meet them. You all saw how they got with Sabo (Flame Emperor) going to their strongest form and even like that couldn't get him. An animal when he is trap can attack you but that doesn't mean it's not terrified. Sabo maintained his coolness. And as a last effort Shanks tried to ally with the alliance to fight Teach since they already were able to beat Kaido and Big Mom with Shanks help that should be enough to take down Teach but unfortunately for Shanks that didn't happened instead Greenbull came up and tried to challenge Alliance and Shanks thought "I already tried to ally with WG I would never be able to ally with marines so the alliance is still my best hope" and cowardly tried to look cool from miles away pretending he could engage Greenbull while shitting on his pants and waiting for alliance to take an initiative on him.

Well that's Shanks. All he can do is going for weak Magma DF users, weak hakiless Magnet DF users and ran away from Sea Kings while constantly pursuing Teach and trying to make alliances to take him down.

Role model of the MC and also one of the strongest characters in the verse... He is doomed to be sacrificed on Teach altar to eventually hype him, enrage Luffy but also because he potentially shadows Luffy, just like Ace and his PK potential. There is also the chance that Luffy simply surpasses him (if it hasn't happened already) and Shanks simply becomes a weak old tool (see every past main villain of an arc) but actually it is way better to have him killed if Oda can recreate something like Ace's death (or in any other case cause it is better to leave the scenes with a bang than becoming the Yamcha of the situation).

To be honest this whole thing of Shanks being the model of Luffy is just so forced. They interact for less than a year I guess? When Luffy was 8! You barely remember someone like that in your life. Ace was his brother and they lived for YEARS! Sabo is similar to Shanks but the connection was much stronger. Again brothers. And Garp is middle term. He spent little time but constantly coming back so this makes their bound stronger than disappearing like Shanks did.

Shanks losing his arm to that eel is still one of the stupidest things.
He has future sight and AdCoC that could’ve prevented this and that scene is the face of the series so I refuse to believe they will leave that unexplained. It was not an accident and most certainly he had something up his sleeve.

I like the evil Shanks theory where he lost it to make Luffy feel indebted to him so he manipulated him into going for the One Piece because he either knew he ate Joyboy’s DF or only a D can reach it. Once Luffy makes it there, Shanks will try to steal it leading to a war.

Shanks said he ''bet it on the next generation'' so we know why he didn't use FS etc... if he did it for ''good'' or ''bad'' reasons is still up in the air with a big inclination towards ''good'' though.

In a way yes but that is "thinking about it too much". What Oda wants you to think about is that Shanks, basically, gave him his godly df, inspired him to be a pirate, even sacrificed his arm for him (and the future of pirates/free people/D/whatever is good) and plus there is the whole hat thing: the hat is not only Luffy symbol but the link with Roger (and Shanks, and Joyboy) and there is also the promise to return it to Shanks one day (which will not be fulfilled since Luffy will have to pass it to the next gen... Or if actually Shanks really demands it back that means the evil Shanks theory is true and at least Oda is cooking something new and unexpected).

Nah. Shanks didn't gave it. Luffy stole the DF. And the hat things has nothing to do with Shanks being villain just because he asked back (WTF dude? I will never borrow you a shit!)

In the end in that very first chapter you have a huge portion of OP already established, then lol about the hat but everybody knows Shanks actually will never get it back, maybe his dead body will but that is it. He is destined to become fertilizer for BB.

Shanks cut his own arm off before he jumped in the water, to apologize for losing the Nika fruit like a Yakuza finger cutting. There's blood all over that chapter but not one drop is on the sea kings teeth.

It was at least partially to manipulate Luffy into staying on the island until he was "ready", but really so that the fruit would stay disappeared after shanks reported he lost it at sea or whatever

Nah. I can totally see Luffy changing his strawhat for the one Roger used.

Maybe in an EoS flashforward when he has already given the hat to somebody else, probably the son of Shanks, but aside from that imo he will keep it until the final fight to symbolize Joyboy/Roger/(Shanks)/Luffy will against Xebec/BB/whoever may be added to this list (Im?).
