Do something else other than do damage to a top tier via sneak, and proceed to get immediately slammed and do nothing for the rest of the fight.
Honestly dogshit showing, inexcusable.
Only somewhat salvaging aspect was that he pierced through Garp even though he foresaw the attack and was somewhat prepared. It means Shiryuu has good armament haki

Shiryu who is supposed to be a high tier has the worst portrayal a character can have.
He is basically just Absalom with a sword. A fodder to be precise. I always say this, if Zoro genuinely struggles against him then Zoro is below even Absalom
- Failed to KO an off-guard Moria.
- Got folded by Magellan so bad that he didn't want to face him again.
- Got KOed by a hakiless slam from Garp.
- Got frozen by Amputee Kuzan.
- Was called scrub by Kuzan and Garp
- Damaged by Sengoku's attack, something even Van Auger and Lafitte tanked
He is basically just Absalom with a sword. A fodder to be precise. I always say this, if Zoro genuinely struggles against him then Zoro is below even Absalom

In addition to his durability, Kaido had an ability called advcoc, which if he used it, you couldn't break his weapon and reach his body at the same time

Vet-level Zoro incoming because he is going to struggle with Shiryu more than he struggled against 2 Emperors. 
And also we can make a case for Zoro getting weaker ever since Wano due to the Grim Reaper fiasco. The reaper sapped away most of his strength which is why Zoro's now so much weaker
He cannot eat 20 fruits, nobody can.
However, he could potentially obtain 3, as much as Blackbeard.
Since Blackbeard is supposed to be the ultimate DF merchant, Shiryu stealing that title would be quite a surprise.
You have to touch the DF user in order to take away his abilities with Dark Fruit.
If Shiryu's Awakening of Suke no Mi is Nothingness, you cannot touch him. See the issue?
Earthquake can destroy the world, yes but it cannot destroy a human of 2-3 meters in size right in front of Blackbeard...

I am fine with below-vet-level Zoro as long as he is the strongest in the world and beats everyone in 1vs1.
We can call him even super-fodder level for all I care. Factually, Zoro is stronger than ever, the handful of strongest.
While some people downplay Zoro due to encounter with Lucci, it is actually Zoro's biggest flex in the show.
Not blocking the unblockable combo of 2 Emperors, not leaving a scar on Kaido with COA alone nor the absolute damage against Lunarian. Disrespecting Lucci and one-shotting him with a mediocre Santoryu move is the best feat in the verse.
The Reaper just reserves a fight against the strongest since no other can kill his boredom.
