Some users find Shanks boring because Shanks is a typical hero figure similar to most manga.

Shanks turn out to be evil and the mastermind behind the whole event would make Shanks more interesting as a character.

God no, it would ruin his character which is the free spirited and honorable pirate.

I'd most likely stop being a Shanks fan. It would also crush Luffy, so it isn't going to happen. All things he did until now were good, why would he do them otherwise? Caring about Luffy or Ace? Caring about stopping a war? Nah, he ain't evil.

Besides, if Oda wanted to pull an Obito, he wouldn't have shown Shanks talking to them NOW and spoil the "evil twist". You get my drift?

I think some interesting polls are:
1. Which pirate does Shanks want to tell to Gorosei.
2. Would Shanks die EOS or not.
3. When would Luffy surpass Shanks.
4. Shanks scar from BB. How did he get it.
5. Shanks fighting style.
6. How strong Shanks would be with 2 arms.

Overall I prefer discussion about the reason why Shanks has interaction with Gorosei. Roger is the most wanted pirate and Shanks is part of Roger pirate so how did Shanks get Gorosei favour?

I think Shanks had connection to Gorosei after Shanks became a yonko. He might know something Gorosei don't since Shanks travelled with Roger Pirates.

For which pirate does Shanks want to talk about to Gorosei
1. BB: He's EOS villain and might surpass Roger so makes sense Shanks would warn Gorosei. BB might be resemble Xebec and since Xebex was the most dangerous pirate maybe Shanks wanted to warn Gorosei.
2. Lurking legend: Oda said lurking legend would be SH strongest enemy so Shanks might wanted to warn Gorosei.
3. BM and Kaido: They teamed up to take ancient weapon so Shanks warned Gorosei make sense since they would destroy the world and one of WG's responsibility is to maintain order of the world.
4. Luffy: This is the most interesting point I saw. I think some user mentioned this to me. He said the pirate he was talking about is Luffy, not teach like everyone thinks. Shanks turns out to be on the side of the wg. He also mentioned the coincidence with Im and the bounty posters. Luffy will fight shanks as a real enemy after Raftel.

The discussion the interest me the most is Shanks relationship with Gorosei. How do you feel if Shanks turn out to be evil and on WG side this whole time?

When Shanks said to Gorosei “there is a certain pirate I wanna talk about”, I would say Shanks meant Blackbeard. I could be wrong, but it looks like Shanks is the only one understands Teach, and how much of a threat he can be to the world.

I think Shanks would not mind a co-op with World Government against Blackbeard.

Now here’s something that bothers me and it came in a timing very weird. The World Government claimed that they have established new form of power that they’re so sure to the point they disabled the Shichibukai system. (I want Hancock in the Grand-Fleet).

I have a feeling that Doflamingo is gonna be rescued by Blackbeard and Doflamingo will ally with Blackbeard since sooner or later Kaido will die. Doflamingo wouldn’t worry about Kaido after that.

Mihawk will ally with Shanks. The war against Blackbeard might be even greater than Wano. The StrawHats Grand-Fleet will step to view after Wano.

It’s just speculations based on the situations we see which make sense to me. I honestly want Doflamingo back in action cause he knows how to throw a party.

I think Ace and Shanks death would be the key for Luffy's growth. Both Ace and Shanks are important to Luffy. Ace was Luffy's older brother while Shanks is Luffy's hero figure/idol.

Ace death made Luffy underwent 2 years training. Luffy grew as captain and became stronger. After Shanks death I think Luffy would also grow as a pirate and has more development in character and strength.

The smiling to death seems to be a habit to happen only with those who carry D in their names, which brings us to an old question I remember it from days of 2008: Is Shanks a D? The straw hat that been given to Shanks by Roger not important as an indication, but it is considered.

Well sensei, I agree that it would be terrible if he was evil. The narrator himself says that Luffy most wants to be a man like Shanks. Watch this from 2:20 to about 4:33.

Shanks isn't the typical 'hero figure' imo. To me he is the 'inspiration' done really well. Not boring at all.

He certainly acts like one. But I don't know. I am willing to bet that he is not. Honestly I wish he doesn't have some kind of "special" heritage. It's cool to not have that kind of thing for a change.
