people really think kid and law, the characters oda came up with in 20 minutes because an editor told him he needed some more pirates in sabaody, are important in any way lol

kid fans should be lucky he didnt get used as a hype tool for fucking don chinjao to show not all conquerors can make it. you're LUCKY him and Law sold enough merch to get this far.

Throwing Kid and Law at the alter of Shanks and BB is unnecessary. More preferable would have been to keep those two out of the story till Oda was ready to release Imu.

Oda absolutely didn’t plan this out very well. specially since Kid and Law weren’t designed at the beginning of the story.

I don't care if Kidd and Law lose. I just think it's a stupid and forced way to hand BB and Shanks the Poneglyphs on a platter. It's shitty writing. There were more organic ways to do this

bb and shanks are both smart people who are like 40 years old. they're not going to go adventuring around and wasting a bunch of time and effort to get this shit when they can park near the end of the line, party, and wait for the poneglyphs to come to them. this is much more elegant and organic than wasting a bunch of time showing even more characters' side adventures

Welcome to OP, the only reason Law and Kidd had that hilarious fight with BM and got a fake bounty was to hype up BB and Shanks. There's only one huge ass problem here, Law and Kidd aren't hype, their crews are ass and Oda is not even drawing the fights.

they both struggled for their lives to temporarily put down big mom. even with haki blooms theyre not capable of these fights with shanks and blackbeard. also we got like 2 chapters of that blackbeard fight lol

Shanks & Teach conveniently didn't make any moves or do anything of note post-timeskip until Luffy was ready to be alongside them.

On the other hand, at least we are getting constant cutaways from Egghead and the atrociously boring plotlines that it entails. Oda usually doesn't do that whatsoever.

I don't see how any of that feels forced. Convenient? Sure, but there was setup for that convenience to make it feel natural.
