He does seem to be wearing a Kasa Hat
So He could be the Guy who met Crocus
However, He isn't Yorki nor Gaban imo
There is no reason for them to change Culture/Design
The reason He is Friendly with Crocus is because of Laugh Tale
Crocus reached Laugh Tale, so He knows about Joy Boy Crew
Imo this Mysterious Man is an Ancient Samurai from Joy Boy's Group
Zunisha is known as Joy Boy's Pet & Emet was like his Robot
They represent his Chopper & Franky (Who are also known to Public as just a Pet & Robot)
So maybe Joy Boy's Entire Crew are still Alive
This Samurai gonna be his First Mate
So He could be the Guy who met Crocus

And then you add on Top of it what you put your Faith in that can help you overcome such Impossible Obstacles
In Hiriluk's Case, He Put Cherry Blossoms
I don't know how Joy Boy's Flag looks like, i don't know what's his Version of Cherry Blossoms
But He invented the Skull Flag, otherwise He wouldn't be First Pirate
So his Definition of "Impossible Obstacle" is what the Skull directly represents "Death Itself"
So Joy Boy's Journey was about finding a Solution to Death, so that no one suffers it anymore, just like SHs Dreams will solve Racism & Disease & Hunger ... etc
Seeing Zunisha & Emet, it's obvious to me that Joy Boy Partially Succeeded, meaning He found an Incomplete Solution to Death, and no wonder that it was used on his Crew, but apparently They are made to Die once their Purpose is Fulfilled, so it's not Perfect Immortality
Another Hint at this is that Hiriluk's Farewell Chapter was called "Snowy Tale", similar to Joy Boy's "Laugh Tale"
And it was named due to Hiriluk's Kingdom being covered in Snow, but why Snow? Cuz Hiriluk wanted to turn Snow to look like Cherry Blossoms that can heal everyone like it once Healed him (Or whoever He was telling a Story about)
So Joy Boy's Story being Named "Laugh Tale" means that Joy Boy's Kingdom was covered in Laughter (Just like Jaya & Yasuie Town), and his Dream was to turn Laughter into something that doesn't allow People to Die, meaning as long as you Laugh, you will never Die
Hence why Laughter is associated with Death a lot in One Piece, and i'm sure you're aware how much Laughter is Symbolic in One Piece.
Based on all this, i believe that Joy Boy Crew were Temporarily Protected from Death, but Unfortunately not Permanently
Emet died the moment it fulfilled it's purpose, and Zunisha gonna also die when it finally reaches it's destined place, and imo this Samurai is also waiting to fulfill his purpose, so that He can finally Die
First Vander Decken was also teased to have being cursed with Immortality, so He might have been Joy Boy's Jinbe
And i won't be surprised if Elbaf King is also 1000 Years Old, and Portgas D. Rouge was Joy Boy's Nami ... etc
Oda clearly doesn't mind bringing Characters from Void Century (He also did it with Imu & Toki)

I disagree with the laughter part, laughter is associated with strength, people laugh because they know their dreams will be passed on and fulfilled, and Luffy laughs in Gear 5 because he is stronger than almost everybody and only has a bit to go to being top 1 in the current balance of power, although others will get way stronger too and that will make him have to train more, and he has the strength to fulfill his dream and protect his friends,

But I still think that most of his crew died and we just met two exceptions, something that helps Oda to kick off the ancient kingdom and joyboy lore.

Kuma just demonstrated similar thing, and it's Hinted to be a Buccaneer Ability, meaning it's related to Giant Blood
When Kid Pirates reached Elbaf, They noticed how Creatures there are Bigger than Normal
Dorry & Brogy also compared Saturn to Animals there, so it's clearly that something is making all Life grow in Size there
So Zunisha being that Huge is related to this, and Emet was clearly shown wearing Elbaf Outfit and now this Samurai guy is waiting in Elbaf.
It's clear to me that Joy Boy's Nakama are related to Elbaf, hence why They didn't appear all this time
Just like Scabbards, We only met majority of them once We reached Wano, so if Joy Boy's Crew are Alive, it will be confirmed when They reach Elbaf, if not, then i obviously take back what i said
