Projects like this make me feel absolutely nothing. We practically know Maul's entire life story. Seeing what he was doing in Year 1 of the Empire's existence is pointless. We already know anything he did failed because he is a lonely loser in Rebels. He literally can't do anything to the Empire cause of canon. We also know he can't change as a character because again, canon. We already know he can never change.

So this is a series with practically zero stakes for a character nothing can meaningfully happen to, who can't change no matter what.

Star Wars has something like 30,000 years of galactic history but Disney can't get out of a 40 feckin year period. It's ludicrous.

They should rewrite the old video games minus the power fantasy sith lords

In their infinite stupidity and hubris they made these 30.000 years non canon. Imagine a Thrawn Triology or the Yusang Wan War with the budget they throw at the Maul series- it would be insane and it would heal the fandom. But no,Disney must do the Disney thing.

There are so many epic tales you can pull from legend materials. Alas current star wars crew are impotent.

It's kinda misleading, Vader would do better against objectively more powerful fighters than Obi-Wan.

The problem is that Vader is usually unfocused and blinded by rage when fighting against Obi-Wan, so he fights like a jackass against him.

I'll watch it in and I'm moderately hyped.

I'm probably in the minority, but I liked almost all of the live action shows so far.

Really hated the Skeleton Crew because it was a big waste of time, however every other live action show at the very least had some redeeming qualities.

Obi wan was maybe less experienced but was completely calm, collected, at peace with his history with Mail and Qui Gon

While Maul was a mess
You can even say he was happy to finally be killed and free from his avenging / rage path (that led to nowhere)

Tbf obi wan was still getting dominated by anakin. But obi wan dominated vader with force at the end which makes obi wan's powers far less consistent.

On one hand he gets instantly clowned by dooku , on other hand he clowns vader. It makes vader look weak.
