I am against Zoro settling down. Straw Hats are adventurers, they are not meant to settle down and have children.

Ringo is a ghost town with a huge legacy . If he's a shimotsuki I cant imagine a better role for him.
added bonus: Ringo becomes home to the wss and he can make it his personal goal to get momo up to speed in swordmanship. someone who will rival him as mihawk once did for him.

Luffy is an adventurer, Zoro is not.
Zoro roams the sea to become stronger and to accomplish his dream. Once his dream is achieve and if the Mugiwara’s crew is dismantled, why would he continues to roam the sea?

Ofc if Zoro x Wano thing is happening.

He will visit Ryuma's Grave near the end of the arc. I don't think we will get an explicit statement proving that he's a Shimotsuki.

Rather we will get some major hints towards it but Zoro himself won't find out about his linage.

Zoro will be nerfed against King and Shiryu or will win without extreme effort. He will then fight an Admiral and win with extreme effort. He will then fight some agent of WG and win with super extreme effort. Finally he will face off against Mihawk.

After everything is said and done, every Straw Hat will go their separate way with only Luffy and Zoro remaining. Luffy and Zoro will decide to become Space Pirate King and USS (Universe's Strongest Swordsman) and decide to head for Space. [There are already Moon Pirates or something in Enel Cover story]. The final page will be Luffy and Zoro getting lost while trying to go to Space.

So what do you make of Ushimaru? Just a red herring? Seems kinda odd to introduce another Shimotsuki Daimyo for that lead to not really go anywhere.

Probable red herring. If Zoro is a Kurozumi it's just a bit of a troll from Oda.

If Zoro's a Shimotsuki I very much doubt that he's Zoro's father- what we know of the timeline simply doesn't match up. He'll be related to Zoro, but it wouldn't be any closer than as an uncle, a distant cousin or maybe a grandfather depending on age.
